The Battle For Second Place: Wii U versus Xbox One

Do you think Nintendo can protect Wii U's second place position in the console race or will Nintendo lose it to Xbox One?

I don't think it's much of a battle.

Xbox One will come in second in sales. Wii U will be last.

Currently, the trend is, the more games you have, the worse your sales, so the PS4 is selling a shitload.

WiiU's lead on the Bone won't last the year.

Unless WiiU can somehow manage to obtain big 3rd Party games, I don't think it will ever be 2nd place.

Hopefully Wii u takes second. Its not gonna beat ps4 but hopefully it beats the bone. Xbox is shit. But a lot of my american brethren aren't very bright and will by the codbox like they did last time around.

Nintendo will have to do somethingvery drastic just to stay ahead of the Xbone for the rest of the year, or Microsoft would have to do something really really stupid again and they've been watching their footing since the success of the PS4.

@Shielder7: I'm still hopeful. Xbox is a terrible brand and it belongs in third place. If they can only win in NA they may not keep second place.

Xbox One will pick up as the gen goes on. People have known what wii u holds from day one. Those who wanted that, bought one. It's going nowhere. It's in last.

I think X1 comes in second. There will be game droughts on WiiU but on X1 there will be 3rd party games in the interim. It will sell more.

Wii U. PS4 will widen the lead drastically. X1 has managed to keep some distance because of MS's recent drastic measures. But people will realize that the PS4 is just a superior device in pretty much every way.

@cainetao11: cod was the best selling game of the previous gen in NA as far as I know. I'm not making a generalization because its true. If anyone is closed minded its the gaming populace that buys the same shooter and sports games over and over again while other games don't get a chance or are labeled negatively because their not cod or madden. Wii u could take second, but it most likely wont. Will the bone take it? Possibly. However that makes people who bought it foolish unless they really enjoy halogearsforza. Cuz if we're going by track records then lems know what their getting into too.

If I have to spell out for you the fact that your assessment of poor taste is not an irrefutable fact then there is nothing to talk about. The generalization comment wasn't in reference to COD as who am I to attack another for liking what they like? COD sold best on PS3 as well. I believe it sold best on PS4 and X1, so it isn't just buying the xbox that's for shit sure. 'other games don't get a chance" oh boo hoo. I never buy COD but spare me hating the consumer market for liking what the majority likes. Buy what you like, that's all you can do.

Second place? IMO, as unlikely as it seems, even the WiiU has a tiny chance to finish on first place, is way too early to tell who's going to win this gen.

And you based your evaluation of the correctness of my sentence on a chopped up version of it. You removed the important qualifier of the mention of the 360 before the "had a head start" part.

The X1 is only selling well in NA, so If the Wii U can pick up some steam then it could give the X1 a run for its money. But neither will touch the PS4.
