I'm not talking about story or graphics or multiplayer. Just the games as whole packages.

We have see no freaken gameplay of Crysis 2. You just say that because it is on the consoles as well.
FYI, Crysis was linear as hell. It might as well have been a corridor shooter. To top it all off, it wasn't that good when it was all said and done.
The lack of Battlefield is disturbing.WarEagle1357
The lack of answer slots when making a poll here is disturbing too:P

If you weren't a mod i would say you are trolling. It was rated 9.5 at gamespot?Do you say that it wasn't good and that i shouldn't trust gamespot? And here watch this it says exactly why Crysis is amazing, and not linear... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyQTCeobZlg All I've seen of Crysis 2 it said it looks like a corridor shooter, but i didn't state it for a fact.Crysis was amazing. There were quite a few corridors towards the end...but I suppose it depends on what you would call "linear". I mean sure, you had to get from A to B, but there plenty of different opportunities to approach a situation. I always try something new each time. So in that sense, it's not really "linear" IMO.

I own both Crysis and Crysis Warhead and neither deserved the score they got. A person can have a conflicting opinion to this website.
Also about it being linear, sure you can approach any situation from multiple angles, but 99% of the time that meant going to 1-3 different routes. These routes always have the same outcome. Stealth is a joke in the game and almost every time you get into a firefight it ends up the same, every single enemy unit in the area bares down on your position like moths to a flame.
Crysis 2 is moving to a city, but we have also seen forests and parks. My guess, it will be just as linear as the first, giving a few paths to get to every objective and a slight variation in how you can approach them all.
ArmA 2 is truely non linear. You can choose your team, your approach, how you move, how you attack, your tactics... literally everything.
Also, somebody disagreeing with you does not equal trolling.

Crysis had the illusion of being non linear, but it really was linear, sure the maps were bigger than most FPS games but that really only allowed you to approach certain firefights differently (Which is great if you ask me) and that was only for the first half, the second half had virtually no freedom at all; and warhead, now that was just a corridor shooter with some pretty scenery. Don't get me wrong, I love Crysis (One of the best FPS games in a while) but it was fairly linear.Crysis was amazing. Crysis 2 looks like a corridor shooter.[QUOTE="Revan_911"][QUOTE="BigBoss154"]

The sarcasm is strong in this one.. And furthermore you stated earlier there are more then 1 routes, that is nonlinear when its in a franchise with games like Modern Warfare 2 where you are cattered down a extremely small path way most times and can't even open doors.. That being said probably Half-Life, the singleplayer was great, but the multiplayer was amazing in the form of mods like Counter Strike, Team Fortress Classic, and Natural Selection..

The only problem is ai in Arma 2 is retarted. Crysis was really good a true next gen experience and it did deserve the 9.5
Quality is in the eye of the beholder. But, I'll go with Half Life.
I'd also like the title to be modified to, "The Best FPS Series.....So Far". That gives room for others to take the crown.

Ridiculous. As i said watch the link it explains perfectly well why Crysis is one of the best shooters this gen. And stealth worked perfectly fine for me, it wasn't a joke as you put it. Crysis gives you all the tools to have an amazing time and try out different tactics, it's not the games fault all your firefights were the same for you.We have see no freaken gameplay of Crysis 2. Use Zeus Ai mod or GL4 mod then tell me the Ai is retarded. They respond to sound for gods sake!!! Btw Crysis did deserve 9.5 imo of course. Still have it installed with an Ai and graphic mod plus a ton of maps.

Well duh evreyone is gonna respond to a threat. What you think the real military will just go "oh a firefight out in the distance, eh its probably nothing..."
You just go round and kill as many people stealthily and then go guns blazing. I got a few camps clean without alertin the Koreans on the first level.
Metroid Prime is not FPS. Just letting you know.nintendoboy16
It is FPS. Don't tell me about FPA, it'sstupid definition.
You put Call of Duty but not Battlefield? :? and you put Halo?!? *facepalm*

No, it was actually pretty amazing. While it was linear in terms of objectives, going from A to B, it was competely free-form and dynamic in terms of gameplay. Let me put it this way: every single gamer out there had a different experience, depending on their specific playstyle. Now compare that to most shooters where every single gamer has exactly the same experience, from Call to Duty to Halo, even the almighty Half-Life and its episodes.
Stalker is also an amazing game, and altough it is open-world it just lacks the excitement of Crysis, imo. Nothing beats being able to switch gameplay styles on-the-fly by pressing a button.
I would say Crysis is a game completely focused on the gameplay, everything else is almost irrelevant. There are very few cutscenes, nothing is scripted, everything that happens is dynamic and dependant on your actions.
