The Best Thing About PC Gaming!

I saw a really negative thread earlier and I couldn't help but balance it out, so what is you guys favourite thing about the platform?

M and KB, le graphics, le smoother frame rate, the pleasure to build your machine and configure it the way you like, le cool exclusives, Steam sales and MMO's (if you are into that kind of stuff =P

the best part about PC gaming is I can read this silly forum while gaming and not have to stop either one :P

Steam Sales. Seriously, I don't care if the PC had Wii graphics, the steam sales are AMAZING.

PC is just better for gaming, all around. (save that thing mentioned in my sig)

-Buy your games online through any service you like, there are plenty, or just buy them in a store. More competition = better prices.

Lazysloth constantly bashes steam, yet there is nothing forcing anyone to use that service (to buy games).

-Play with M/KB or hook up a controller, any controller.

-Is there something in a game that bugs you ? Well than there probably a mod around just for that, or you can mod it yourself.

Backwards Compatibility.

-There is not a single platform out there that does BC as great as PC does it, I'm playing the first Age of Empire right now and that game is 15 years old. You can even play older games than that with DOSbox.

The freedom:

The ablility to use mods or not, the ability to have multiple sources for games (different digital stores Steam, GoG, Origin, etc.), the ability to use different applications for features such as Voice Chat, ability to upgrade hardware and have different hardware configurations, multiple inputs (Mouse and Keyboard, Gamepads, Wheels, Razer Hydra).

-Better graphics and performance. Can't imagine subhd and less than 30 fps in most games (console).

-Mods/tweaking.

-Most control options.

-The most exclusives, by a large margin - leaving you with more reasons to play it.

-The very best version of most multiplats, including ME3 at the very moment which I am loving.

The games, freedom and graphics. Don't really care for mods or even steam sales that much since I don't buy too many games.

Not to mention BF3, 64 player combat. Skyrim creation kit and workshop...

I voted keyboard and mouse, though the graphics (framerate, resolution and antialiasing) are a big pro as well. Obviously games like Diablo and others are another big reason.

but I like the exclusives, old & new, and I like upgrading my PC hardware.

While all the options are great choices, any true PC gamer selected "games"

I voted games, as that should be the bottom line for choosing whether or not to by a platform, and PC games are well worth it.

I like a lot of things about PC gaming, but my favorite aside from the variety of games is the ability to play 99% of all of my games on my one PC. No having to boot up other consoles to play older games.

"Freedom" should have been a choice. Or all of the above

The loads of innovative indie games are undoubtedly the crown jewel of PC gaming. Like triple A games are it for consoles..

Graphics and frame rate, pretty much.

I chose the games just out of principle. But the graphics and controls definitely help out. Building your own PC and mods are cool too since they let you customize your entire experience as opposed to being just a statistic on some corporate chart. So yeah, PC gaming is pretty dope.
