But yeah, my opinions about FF7 aside (that it was actually not that great of a FF game, and that it only got cult status because it was the first one in 3D... FF6 is waaay better), it seems that every spinoff of it is just terrible.

Look a FF7 hater. For your information Advent Children was very good critically acclaimed by both the media and the fans. And you judge the ff7 spinoffs of being lame by only one game, that is a shooter??? Come on.
FF7 was ovehyped... i mean i bought that game in 2005 at K-mart for 14.95 thinking it was the Wootcakes. Its was good but its not as good as everyone think it is. I mean Vincent was overshadowed
