Okay, I see, so you don't have to buy an HD-DVD player, and thus you don't have to increase the price.

Too bad PS3 game's also cost money, unlike 360 games---oh **** wait...well I guess you don't have to buy games either :?

It's included in the price tag of $499 ($469 for me).

sony added blu ray for a reason. they are going to make games out of blue ray cuzz its better than what their being made out of right now which i think is still dvd or hddvd. but blu ray is included in the price, its just a drive not the actual player, the reason a standalone cost so much is cuz it was made just for that it doesnt make any sense but thats why they cost so muchyayyfood

It might be better, but that's not the main reason they included it. They did it to win the format war.

standalone BR players cost so much bc companies need to make a profit opn it, unlike the ps3 where sony sells it for less then it cost them to make it, sony makes money on games
