If this game sells even half of what Killzone 2 did in its first month, it will be a HUGE victory for HVS considering KZ2's $60 million budget was over 10 times higher.

That article is just some dude saying he went to Target and couldn't find a copy.

People seem to forget that the plural of anecdote is not data.
Moreover, lack of product on the shelves could be due to low shipments or employees not placing all the stock out.

A mediocore game selling well never hurt anyone. I'm still in awe that people want games to sell bad. (I only want SE lazy games to sell bad because Its apparent they don'tt even try)
mediocre games selling great of course hurt the industry... I'm not saying the Conduit is a 100% bad game. I haven't played the game, and neither plan to do so. But it's fun to watch some people to cheer up for sales and compare it directly to a quality one (there are still better fps than kz2, but nobody can deny the bog achievment they got, specially when you compare with the first game)[QUOTE="ActicEdge"][QUOTE="Giancar"]lol, hyping sales over quality.... go for it! :DGiancar

Its no big deal, Turok, Army of 2, God Father 2, etc all sold decent for being meh games yet people act like its a horrible thing. As far as comparing sales, since the sales game is not really correlated with the quality game game its not really all that big of a deal either.

No offense but this type of thinking encourages 2 things:
1. It assumes that you should be picking what people buy based of what you think of games and
2. It assumes your tastes are what everyone's tastes should be.
I'm sorry but that type of thinking is not worth the time of day quite frankly.

How is this bad for the industry? there are better games that you could hype to sell great...LKS for example the conduit, from what I've seen....not at allWhy because LKS's Gamerankings average is like .5 higher? Who cares. The Conduit is a solid game with good online and a true effort from a small developer to bring an exclusive core game to the Wii from the ground up. If anything, it will encourage more fps on the Wii. A genre that is lacking on the console. The fact that you're somehow acting like this game will somehow bring more bad games to the Wii is completely unjustified. nowhere in my post have I stated that the COnduit getting sales would mean "doom and gloom" It's just something I wouldn't be very proud of...Why not? You are basing everything on the quality of the game. A shovelware dev who produces nothing but crap steps up to the plate and tries to deliver a quality shooter since none of the bigger devs want to try. All things considered, they did an okay job. Everyone who talked to these guys liked them, enjoyed their passion and hard work and thought they were nice guys. I don't see anything wrong being proud that this game would sell well. I would rather a mediocore game with hard work put into sell well rather than the same remake/port/spinoff garbage SE feeds us sell.

It would be interesting too see The Conduit outsell a juggernaut like Killzone 2.
ActicEdge
It won't happen but that would be a kick in the face to alot of the people defending KZ2's sales lol.
I think it can easily outprofit KZ2 considering KZ2's $60 million budget. It would only need about a tenth of its sales.there are better games that you could hype to sell great...LKS for example the conduit, from what I've seen....not at all[QUOTE="Giancar"][QUOTE="redfordo"]All it will do is encourage more core games on the Wii. no, I don't like fps very much...but if you like the genre, buy the Conduit? No way in hell. Buy another fps in another system. I don't see nothing, really nothing that stands for the Conduit. Especially in a genre so overpopulated and with sooo many other choices (most being far better than this one)Heck but thats me
Can't do any worst than Bionic Commando, which sold 13 k on the 360 and PS3 combined last month :lol:Would be nice to see it outsell ANY of the PS3/360 action/shooters honestly. Not because it's an amazing game, but because of the 3rd party support it might bring to the Wii.

Again, it goes back to point #1 I made:
"It assumes that you should be picking what people buy based off what you think of games"
Again, I don't see why you care whether people buy mediocore games when better ones are available. Army of 2 and Turok are a few examples. People should be able to buy and play what they want free of criticism unless you are under the impression you know more about people's tastes than they do. I highly doubt you beleive that which is why I don't see the problem.

Congradulate the devs or laugh really hard that the game actually outsold one of the biggest games this year. Well, I just hope they get their monies worth and the Wii will never lose that sooccer mom image lol. As long as games like Wii play sell, nothing will save the wii from that image.

What does that mean to the publisher though? Not much. This isn't about bragging rights. It's about developers finding financial success in their endeavors and it spurring on further development in the future.[QUOTE="ogvampire"]

Its funny because I've seen tons of copies of this game, everywhere, here in the GTA in Ont. Canada.
I don't think it'll sell amazingly well but it will sell well.
Its too bad, people will enjoy it for 3 hours then be done with it.
I don't know if I really trust that post. The only game I haveseen sold out where you couldn't get it near me was Mario Kart.
Not only that, my Target didn't get Tiger Woods until a few days late. They had the place holder there, it looked sold out, but none were sold.
I use Amazon as my measure of things being sold out. I checked, and they are in stock.
That being said, it does seem to have a positive outlook by most players on the consumer side. Word of mouth may also be sellling this game.
I hope it does sell well, because I think HVS have the motivation and passion to improve.
