DISCLAIMER: I am, for now, limiting this only to retail exclusives. I want to include digital and indie games too, but the problem is, thus far, I haven't been able to find a way on Gamespot to organize a list of reviews by platform and score. Retail exclusives are easier to keep track of, so I am sticking to them. However, if someone is able to furnish me with a list of digital exclusives for all three consoles, I will happily include them in the listing.

Question though why does Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate count, but The Last of Us remastered wouldn't? That seems kind of stupid to pretend an updated port of a game is somehow all that different from a remaster (an updated port of a game).

Crap, I forgot Monster Hunter was on Wii. I knocked it out (only reason I included it was the same reason I included Forza Horizon 2 and LBP3).

Removed it, fixed W101 and Bayo2.

Shouldn't have listed them, you know what the word exclusive means. My guess is that one is avoided because then we end up in fishy territory with Smash?

Side note: Is now the best time to ask why even pretend there is a meta game and hype stuff? Because the fucks that are given to this shit feel like they are nonexistent after a quick 1 hour of "LOL OWNED" and we all move on.

No, actually. Mostly, it was to make sure the Xbox list would have something, it had two games otherwise, and that was getting sad.

I mean, I could remove LBP3 and Horizon 2, that would leave it equal w.r.t each other for the twins anyway.

Smash 3DS and Smash U are different games made on the same engine, so that wasn't anything I considered. Worst case, I would knock it out too, and then each console loses one exclusive. Nothing loses, nothing wins.

Why are you trying to limit the metagame to exclusives only? Granted it's a hopelessly out of date and broken way to play the Throne of Games, but iirc didn't they at least include entire retail libraries? This way is even more separated from reality than ever...

Yeah that, and realistically speaking the PS4 and Xbox One crowd would not be in need of a PC as badly as a WiiU owner would need a PS4, Xbox One, or a PC to make up for the lion's share of games that platform misses out on.

But I'm sure this is the part where we begin to argue on how chicken isn't poultry.

This is why I built a PC to compliment my 3DS this generation. Was thinking about Xbox One and PS4 for FFXV and KH3, but hopefully they'll come to PC.

This list is extra pathetic when you realize that the anemic Nintendo game lineup of the Wii U in 2.5 years is destroying the PS4+Xbox One lineup in a combined 3 years. Why are people buying these systems again?

actually the PC is the food, everything else is the sides.

This food analogy aside, I didn't need any console necessarily, I wanted said consoles, and I expect them to earn daddy's love. They haven't done a good enough job earning daddy's love that one can only assume is that none of them are good enough to be called mashed potatoes. The PS4 and Xbox One are good enough systems to carry you an entire gen on their multiplats and indie stuff alone. Likewise the PC is good enough the consoles aren't even worth spitting on, much less spending the money I did on those consoles to have 3 dust collector's for an exclusive here and there. But the WiiU? if that's your primary game machine, and you are an enthusiast of this medium (which you would be posting on this forum), you will need another gaming system.

You simply miss out on way too many games and give yourself the shortest selection of games. With the PC? you don't do that. The PS4 and Xbox One? smaller selection vs the PC, but a giant gap in terms of how many options you will have in terms of game selection vs the WiiU.

Well it's a good thing that only sales numbers and resolution count this generation.

I remember when the Metagame (360 era) was all about the most high scoring games AA, AAA. (exclusive requirement N/A)

Then suddenly that definition expanded or LOWERED it's requirement to be considered HIGH scoring to included A rated games making it the most A, AA and AAA games. Hell might as well have expanded to who has the most games overall huh lems?

The spreadsheet was only created to exploit the 360 1 year launch advantage so xbox fanboys could have an easy win in arguments last gen, but the "rules" kept changing whenever PS3 was close or beat 360 in those original categories til it was done away with.

lol, that used to be a thing (easy win) when xbox 360 launched 1 year before Nintendo or Sony but now it's all about exclusives haha, not hard to figure out why that list and the "rules" disappeared when things changed in favor of of the other HD system called playstation.

Bullshit, why? you miss out at most 5 or maybe 6 games in a fantastic year, that are actually great if you are going solo on PC. You get a large selection of games covering various genres, including under the radar stuff that tends to have richer gameplay than the standard stuff being done in the 60 dollar space.

missing out on a handful of good games? big whoop, the PC has no shortage of good games. You can easily be satiated by the offerings on that platform so this mentality of "you have to own multiple" gaming systems doesn't actually fly.

Not really. Last gen you could easily get by with just a PS3 or 360. They had tons of games.

That's not the case with the PS4 but that has more to do with this gen being really slow to get started.

Wii U has the most good exclusives and it will probably continue to do so, but I can't imagine any situation in which having only a Wii U will be sufficient whereas I can see that happening with PS4, long as it may take to get to that point.
