This topic has been of much dispute as of late. I would love to come to some sort of conclusion on what a hardcore gamer really is. In my eyes, a hardcore gamer is someone who wants to experience all of what gaming has to offer. He loves hearing news about games, cant wait till E3 comes around to see the newest games, and doesnt take sides on a particular console because he can only afford that one. When a game comes out on a system he doesnt have, he wishes he owns that system. He doesnt hate on it because he cant play it.
I would consider myself "hardcore" simply because I meet most of this criteria. I may not be a fan of particular genres (RTS really) but I still respect it as a genre and respect the quality of the games in the genre. I own all the consoles and a gaming PC simply because I dont want to miss out on any gaming experience, be it Zelda, Mario, MGS, FF, Halo, Counterstrike and Half Life, or any other huge franchise. I consider gaming a hobby, and cannot wait to see what the future holds for it.
So what do you guys think? Accurate enough?
