Super Mario 64

Goldeneye 64 (better than Halo because it showed that FPS can be done on a console right, and did it first)

Halo 2 (did online multiplayer right, for FPS games on a console)

Gears of War

Ninja Gaiden (X-Box) did for action games what Mario 64 did for platformers--it is the best example of what they should be.

Super Metroid

Knights of the Old Republic.

Now for those PC titles:

Diablo II.

Baldur's Gate II

Total Annihilation. (yes, over Starcraft, because it was at least as good, and did it 3D. I have a +10 flame shield ready. Haters be warned)

Doom.

Quake II

Call of Duty.

Escape from Monkey Island.

Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion (the PC version only gets this nod over the console because of mods)

Half-Life is definitely my number 1, with OoT probably in 2nd. Others in my list, in no particular order,would be Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, MGS3, Battlefield 1942, Mario Kart 64, Tetris, Sly Cooper and the Thevius Raccoonus, Super Smash Bros. Melee, and probably Super Mario 64.

MGS3 Really? It was great but not a classic or genre defining like MGS. But non the less eveybody has the own tastes.
