So a gamer was able to code Kinect controls onto the Skyrim. Video Below: PC Version of Course.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z83wzJwrBK0&feature=player_embedded

Just one person did this. Imagine how much a development studio can do with it.

Kinect is very interesting, I don't know why there is so much hate for it. The tech is new and when new things are launched, unfinished, poorly, or cheap developed tools/games/etc will always come first. Test the risky waters first, before jumping in.

This also brings the question, with Microsoft pushing Kinect onto PC as well. Will Kinect become a mainstream option for PC gamers in the future? The drivers, SDK, everything will be there. Multi-platform developers can easily just port code over if they are building Kinect onto Xbox as well. Think how some multiplatform games on PC can be easily played like an Xbox game.

That´s actually very impressive! With so many selectable items, Bethesda should have included the voice option for quick item selection. It seems to work well.

I'm pretty sure the modding community will have some fun with this. But it looks mighty impressive for just one person and a very very early build.

An how exactly does shouting out the commands to control the UI "add to the experience" not to mention he just looks darn right ridiculous playing it.

I like the voice control for weapons / spells selection. Everything else doesn't add anything to gameplay tho, id rather use a gamepad to control my character.

Voice control would be cool. If you could actually shout in real life to use the dragon shouts in the game, now that would be awesome.

I do think it is to slow to actually use though. Nothing a gamepad can't do much faster.

That is pretty cool. I would not mind having some of the voice commands.

That is incredibly slow, ineffective, and just detracts from the experience.

I came in here to troll but that was kind of cool. The UI for pc is garbage, voice commands would be awesome. The controls looked pretty fluid and intuitive, not something you really see from Kinect. I would like to see actual footage confirming he was indeed using Kinect though.

Edit: In the bolded part, I am going by Kinect standards.

no thanks for me but as a tech demo of what can be done with the thing it is pretty sweet.

i doubt i will ever care enough about motion controls for anything other than pausing tv playback and channel surfing and the like and i'm not even going to pay $150 for that.

I hope you're not so insecure to care about how dignified you look while playing a game in your room.

Looking forward to the updated Kinect for PC.

I can see a nice hybrid control for this game. Movement with the pad, and using voice commands to swap between stuff. It's much smoother than opening the menu, selecting an item then using an action. I think a hybrid setup will be the future of Kinect in a lot of games.

If it had better UI controls it would be good.

Voice activated inventory = poo.

He was extremely accurate with a longbow  I mean seriously, the only half decent feature is voice commands but do i see myself talking to a screen at 3am? NO.... To me all this is totally useless.

While it's impressive what he's done, it's utterly pointless. Half the commands are easier with the keyboard. :? This just looks clunky and unintuitive. Activating spells with voice is much better than going through the worse UI ever seen in a PC game ever, though. :P

I've always wondered how an open world game would work on Kinect. It seems like my assumption was correct. It seems very awkward.

i would have to remember the names of all my items to access them when its just faster to get it in my inventory and the fighting looked awkward and not responsive, it seems that after a little battle with some bandits you would get tired and exhausted and that fight took way longer then it should have. its a nice mod but the technology in kinect is light years to where it would be a fun immersive experience in a game like skyrim,

Some really awkward gestures there. Especially the squatting and moving.

Meh. Would be better with Motion Plus or Move. Less delay.

No voice commands though, or full body controls like crouching.

I also have to mention that the idea of having to stand the entire time while playing the game would bea major problem.

and now Motion Controls are Ok now, This is the Power of the Xbox, people.

Motion Controls are terrible one day then the next they're "impressive" again.

Weird how MS can't seem to make anything fu or unique with Kinect, and the modding community can make some amazing stuff with it.
