Are any of you out getting to the point where the multiplayer parts of the CoD's, MoH's and Battlefields of the gaming world have become dull and stale. I just cant help but think that at some point the bottom is going to fall out of this genre as it has been so over exposed this generation. There just isn't anyhting new and exciting about running around shooting, killing, dying and respawning over amd over.

Now I loved the campaign for both MoH and Black ops and am playing the single player of BC2 right now. Its not that I hate FPS because I dont. All Im saying is that the multiplayer variant seems to have run its course and Imo recieves way too much attention.

Most people on these forums have were as the general public are still modern shooter crazy, and, believe it or not, the game companies do not live to please the users of system wars :P

REDORCHESTRA2HEROESOFSTALINGRAD, 2011... tell your friends.

I'm still having a blast with Arma 2, and in my mind, that's a proper military shooter. Call of Duty has turned into an action movie that happens to feature military equipment.

This. Also, I still love Battlefield and can't wait for BF3. As long as you avoid the crap(CoD,MoH), then you shouldn't have to worry about it. ;)

Yeah I can't say anything bad about BF. I have my gripes, but as a military shooter it's completely fine. Some very intense firefights to be had. Of course, it's no Red Orchestra, but it's cool. It can stay :P

I strongly disagree. Multiplayer is the only part I'm interested in games as BC 2 and BLOPS, and now that environment destruction will be main part of the incoming DICE multiplayer games, a whole new world of posibilities is open to the players.

I still like Battlefield games.

but otherwise, I think miltitary FPS have been getting pretty stale. MoH, CoD and now Homefront all look the same to me.

I wouldn't say military FPSs are ever going to go out of fashion, maybe just particular trends in them, for instance WW2 FPSs kind of oversaturated the market so there was a shift to more modern combat settings after the fresh success of Modern Warfare, once this dies surely we'll be onto something else.

For a while anyway...

ARMA2/Arrowhead is the penultimate modern day FPS for me with its built-in mission generator and editor. This and similarly featured games are the types that last a long time to me.

I am, but I also don't like platformers, button mashers like GOW, fighters, most racing games, quite a few sports games & JRPG's. Luckily other people do and it keeps getting them made. Just because you or I don't like a certain game or genre doesn't mean others who do should be deprived of them maybe?

You mean manshoots? No, not really because I play them in moderation. Am I sick of the gushing praise they get from gamers and the media attention? Yes.

I'm bored of online that is the same thing and over again. I got Black Ops, thought the campaign was "ok", but havent even TOUCHED the online portion yet because I saw it and it literally looks like the exact same game rehashed for the FOURTH time. I wasn't impressed with Medal of Honor either and got rid of that after about a week. I am looking for Battlefield 3 though, hopefully Dice doesn't screw that up like they did Medal of Honor
