The Experts Agree, Killzone 2 succeeded expectations

The lemmings can go into all the damage control they want, but what really matters is the words of the experts who were there to see it first hand.

The words of the gaming journalist there to witness the game is all the matters:

"As soon as our soldier hits the ground and his gun comes into view, very much like what we saw with the opening to Resistance, we couldn't help but think, "Holy hell, all of that was in-game?" Indeed, it's quickly apparent that Guerilla has come much closer to the original trailer than most anyone thought possible." IGN

In short, all the doubters have been owned. The new Killzone 2 demonstration has succeeded the 2005 E3 trailer.

None of that says it's better then the trailer two years ago... and IGN suggest that it doesn't surpas it... just get closer then people were expecting.

KZ2 looks great. the only question remaining is whether or not it will play as good as we need it to. I'll wait and see. I've seen too many good looking FPS games that disappointed in gameplay (Advent Rising, for example).

I don't see how they were low. They did a projected render that looked impossible and everyone bashed them for it. Lems were saying do not hype this game, it's going to flop and flop hard. The only people who were expecting it to be utter crap was lems to be honest. Everyone (including Sony it seems) knew this game was going to really make the PS3 look good or really bad. So much has been hyped about this game it's been unreal.

So yes there was low expectations (from the lems) for this title but other than the Lems, expectations were high.

It's the truth. The game looks amazing. I was gonna buy a PS3 for MGS4. But i guess i found another game i'd like to buy as well.

It looks great, the question is... how does it play? I won't know cuz I'm still not buying a PS3.

BTW your Topic sounds stupid. It reads like you wanted to write "exceeded expectations" but that wouldn't be true either since, even though it looks fantastic, it still doesn't match the pre-rendered trailor they showed 2 years ago.
