Rockstar has released the latest screenshots for Max Payne 3 which show how drastically the New York City cop has changed since the first installment of the series.
Rockstar has re-invented Max Payne's look for Max Payne 3, which is due for release on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this Autumn.
As Max has changed so dramatically, we thought it would be an ideal time to take a look at how his image has evolved over the years...

MAX PAYNE - 2001
Arms like a chimpanzee, slicked back hair, strong jaw-line, leather jacket look. A pissed off Mr.Tickle.

MAX PAYNE - 2003
Knackered man with the world on his shoulders, skinny but smart look.

MAX PAYNE - 2009
The muscly, rugged, slightly pot-bellied,scarred, bearded, hard as nails look.

so which face is better?

He really does look like a white Mr T now.

The first one...Just look at him.

I like the new one the best, gives off a "Don't **** with me" vibe.

lol! Im going to say "Max Payne 2003" looks the best--but that Max Payne 2001 face is kinda amusing.

I'm not liking the new look. We have enough bald protagonists this gen, there was no need to rob Max Payne of his hair.

Max Payne 2 look is my fav

I always preferred the second one - he had that awesome world-weary look that fit the noir atmosphere perfectly.

2003 and 2009 are the same face:P

2001 is a great face.

The 2003 look is the best.

Max Payne 2 version. Why the given look of the newest Max Payne.... he hardly resembles the character we love. If that wasn't enough, we've got another tropical environment to play in. Why are tropical environments such a hot location to develop a game for. Stick with the main look and environment Rockstar. It's the least you could do for us fans. I've yet to see a majority of people agreeing with the new look or location. That says something.

Despite being sillier, I thought the original looked the best.

OMG! Max looks sooo ugly! this is fricken funny

I like the 2003 look. This new look just doesn't fit the story and noir stlye that the previous games set up. He looks like carl from aqua teen hunger force.

Man, what has happened to Payne in the 3rd? He looks more like El Buro from GTA III, it is almost payneful to watch.
