Fat Princess has garnered a lot of attention when it debuted at E3. The startlingly violent PSN multiplayer game got accolades from gamers and critics alike for its unique premise and appealing gameplay. However, not everyone is happy with Fat Princess.

Shakesville (picture, above) notes that the title furthers inappropriate gender stereotypes and continues the culture of ridicule that many overweight individuals must suffer through. "Anyway, congrats on your awesome new game, Sony. I'm positively thrilled to see such unyielding dedication to creating a new generation of fat-hating, heteronormative **** It's not often I have the opportunity to congratulate a cutting-edge tech company on such splendiferous **** jackholery. Way to go! The Fat Princess of Shakes Manor salutes you."

Feminist Gamers has a suggestion: they want the game to avoid making the princess become fat with cake. Instead, there are other non-"cute" ways of going about this, in terms of gameplay: "So how about layering, Karamari-**** a bunch of random **** on top of the chest, like shrubbery, rocks, bison, etc, that would also weight it down. That could be cute, and silly, and not reinforce nasty stereotypes about women and the obese."

I agree with a feminist perspective on equality, let me make that clear first and foremost.

I disagree, however, with these Neo-Nazi's parading around under the banner of feminism. Its supposed to be cute, its suposed to be a joke, its really REALLY not going to harm anyone who wasnt already unstable to the point that they were well on their way down a bad path already.

Thousands of young women around the world are abused, raped, forced into prostitution and killed every day, and yet this is the sort of thing people want to complain about? Great job on picking your battles there, why not start a campaign to ban snorlax from all future Pokemon games while you're at it?

I'm surprisingly indifferent to feminist gamers comments, perhaps a little sense of humour is needed their. Its hard to say a games really going to reinforce those kind of stereotypes with a jokey premise and art style that clearly isn't taking its self very seriously.

Shakesville may however burn in hell. I mean the above argument comes into play against theres own comments as well. I mean inspire a new generation of fat hating heteronormative ****. I think school did that just fine thanks. I mean it also kind of personally annoys me but she's just lashing out on anything she can because of her own bad experiences and self hatred. Well the bottom picture pretty much said it all. Not to mention her arguments just generally very weak as she seems to just sterotype on video games as the source for these "bad experiences". Feminists are some of the most sexist people out there. If it was called fat prince nobody would complain. I recall someone complaining about men being whores and sleeping with anyone they want in Mass Effect, she didn't even know you could play as a Woman. Damn I don't like feminists.

Many fight for both, and it truly is a noble cause. There are many issues of inequality between men and women that do need resolving, and without strong women that stand up and fight for their rights and fight to be treated equally, the world would be a much worse place.

My point, primarily, was that "Feminists" who go off the deep end over every little thing create a stereotype of thier own, the "man-hating, would-cut-your-balls-off-given-half-the-chance" stereotype. How they think that is helping people fight for rights and equality is beyond me.

Yeah you've got a point. One of the thing thats making me feel this is I'm sure they don't have a problem with how fathers rights currently stand, well here in the uk anyway it seems though sure after a divorce you get fathers that are very difficult to get child care out of but you also get the mothers that try and limit the time their kids can see their father to the minimum just to get back at her ex-husband. Stuff like that doesn't seem to get as much publicity but yet to me that seems extremely low, the other side of the coin and all. I wonder if feminists would support some fathers rights? Because if they're looking for equality surely that has to work both ways.
