I was wondering in 10-15 yrs from now what will games be like? I mean look at games like gears 2 and how beautiful the graphics are. I just dont see how they will make games look that much better. I mean if they do it seems like they will have budgets like most blockbuster movies have like 200million dollars. Also it seems it would take a very long time to make a really good game because of all the details that they will have to add to the enviroments. I just look at games today and remember 20 years ago when I was playing my NES, and how much things have changed, if they continue at that pace, its scary where games will be in 2025 especially with innovations like NATAL, and the new 3d tv's like the one made by mitsubishi. Im just worried that games in the future will be very hard to make thus making them expensive and there wont be as many games to play because each one will take yrs to make. What do you guys think?

I'm not sure if it's desirable to increase detail up to the point where it almost seems real. I mean Chainsawing someone in Gears looks awesome and all, but if in indistinguishable from real something like that in a video game is pretty questionable I guess.

i think the law of deminishing returns will hinder future progress.
