While it looks good, what game that's coming out soon is using it? And don't be fooled about SQ42 coming out in six months, it will take years for it to be ready. So yea, these engines looks nice, but nothing will use them, and one day, when something does, it will run at 34fps.
It really is amazing, and even if you are a skeptic (especially if you are a skeptic, I'd argue) you should at least check out Star Citizen during one of their "free fly" events.
Hands-down one of the most incredible pieces of gaming tech I've ever had the joy to experience.
Still buggy as hell, but as a backer for many years it's been truly wonderful seeing them develop this game.
I can wait for the final product. One year from now, five years from now...this thing will change gaming as we know it. It won't set a new standard since it's such a niche genre, and yet...perhaps it could.

I prefer to play games over decade old still in the making tech demo.🙃
Very impressive from a technical standpoint. I wish the rest of the AAA sector showed some of the same ambition.
What concerns me with the scale though is populating it with fun things to do and keeping the player engaged. This is especially true for players on a ship that are not a pilot.
I mean if you and a few buddies are on a long trip and someone else is piloting the ship...what does everyone else do? With the commuting train in the demo...what can you do when in transit between cities?
I'm still rooting for the whole endeavour though (more SQ42). I really really hope they do release something and it basically gives the AAA sector a kick in the arse.

Needs to be finely aged 😋

FTL travel (between planets, stations, etc) is not that long. Maybe a few minutes tops. It's long by casual gamer standards, sure, but quite short by simulation standards. Compare it to something like Elite: Dangerous where you spend literal real-time days getting from point A to point B, or a flight sim like DCS World where [on mp servers] you can't speed up time and just sit in the cockpit flying to your navpoint.
As for what to do? Well...you talk. Tell jokes. I mean, what do you do when travelling in a car? On a train? Or on a plane? You pass the time however you see fit. The game is meant to be played differently as a sim than it is something more arcade or casual-like; you're not always doing something exciting, there's not always something taking up 100% of your attention. That's not a flaw, that's just the nature of the genre.
I do share your concerns and can appreciate your questions, it's nice to hear from a skeptic that is still rooting for the game to take off (we don't lose anything by hoping for the best, after all!) but the game is better and better with each update. There's turrets to sit in and fight off enemies, salvaging and mining to do cooperatively, and more.
Now that I have the world's fastest PC, is there any way for me to download and play this game? I visted their website but it looked like I had to pay hundreds of dollars lol...
"(...) as one continuos shot without loading screens."
The video hasn't even started and they are already taking a massive dump on Starfield.

As king of hermits you should know that if a game isn't available on Steam it doesn't exist.
I'd love to play Tarkov with my buddies but alas, it does not exist.
@R4gn4r0k: I agree, **** those assholes trying to get me to download another platform.
But if Star Citizen is free anyway, I wouldn't mind.

For sure I'd like to play Squadron 42, I'll take any singleplayer shooter.
But at this point I expect RTCW Path Traced and Stalker 2 to get a release first.
