As much as I don't always agree with TC, he's not wrong. I really want to see MS at least win GOTY to a degree. If MS cannot make a good game that is worth a GOTY contender, MS might as well just leave the gaming industry...but really, we all don't want that to happen.

Still, MS needs to do better. Seeing both Sony/Nintendo doing better and better every year is just sad for MS.

Let's be honest here Indiana Jones is better than astro plop and it would have won GOTY if not for the cut off date...even the award show knew this and gave Xbox studios,todd Howard Harrison ford and Troy baker the opening slot to the show and handed out the best performance award to Xbox studios first

1) in 2018 MS had the 5th highest rated (92) game of the year and was only beating by 2 games out of the 6 games nominated for game of the year that year and wasn't nominated for GOTY.

2) In 2021 MS has the 2nd highest rated (92) game of the year (only behind a game on the Switch that had only 10 reviews) rated higher than ALL 6 of the game of the yearnominees and still didn't get nominated for GOTY.

3) In 2016 MS had the equal 5th highest rated (91) game that year, higher than 3 of the 6 nominees for game of the year, and yet still didn't get nominated for GOTY.

So, tell me dav why do you think MS games are not getting nominated over other lower scoring games? and please do your research before you spout nonsense, I expect from the OP, not you.

I actually like the route they are taking now with the “this is Xbox” basically everywhere. Console wars need to completely die off. A console to me represents convenience and value(although paid online play kind of negates that). I spent $1200 on a PC 3 years ago that had an equivalent performance as my PS5. Yes, it does a lot more than my PS5 but not everyone wants those extra features. Hence why consoles exist. There’s also the guarantee that your console will play all the games for as long as the gen last. So console Xbox will always have its place. I’m to the point now that I hope Sony and Nintendo port their new games over to each console to make up lost sales, which should allow more new games to be made and quicker.

Who indeed cares about game awards? I enjoy very much what's available on gamepass, and I don't need reviews or awards to be able to enjoy them.
