This gen, Halo 3. I had the original Halo for the Xbox and didn't much lik eit but I do love shooters. didn't buy Halo 2 but bought Halo 3 based on the amount of hype it was getting and the amount it sold and wasn't excited in the least about it. Though Halo 3: Recon sounds like more my style of multiplayer (If it uses more of a cover system like I was lead to believe).
Last gen it must have been .. I forget how to spell it but it was somwthing like shikomu. Man I hated that game. The amount of (press A then B then double X was just annoying. And I couldn't get otu of it cause the last save was just before so I needed to complete it or I was stuck.
On the Wii it would be Raving Rabids
Xbox 360 it would be Tomb Raider Legend
PS3 would have to be SOCOM, but I would like it more if there was an insentive to play like trophies or co-op missions

IF I hear good things about the single player it may still be a buy though.
That looked like it was going to be so much fun too! I'm glad I only rented it.State of Emergency.. man I was so hyped for that game.
It was fun for about 5 minutes.

just so you know, i've given about 5 minutes trying to think of a joke about the whole "painfully bought" thing. sorry, i got nothing.
anyways, i can't really remember a time were i bought a game that i hadn't already played, and was therefore sure whether or not i wanted it.
i'm a pretty careful buyer,
I do enough research that I never regret BUYING a game. I guess the closest it comes is.. Rock Band 2. The world tour got on my nerves and the drum set wouldn't work. I thought I would buy Socom and Motorstorm but after the Socom beta and renting motorstorm I decided against it. Other than that I feel like I've been pretty smart into NOT falling for crap like Haze, Too Human, and Lair (I don't want a flame war, just examples.) If you have even ONE doubt, wait for a review. gamefan274
Yeah, but sometime I'll buy a game because of the reviews and be disappointed because it isn't your kind of game. I mean, Grand Theft Auto 4, Baldur's Gate 2, ...
Ok, don't kill me, but If I did have a second chance, I would've only rented MGS4. I LOVED the story so much, but I can't get past Act 3 without losing interest on account of I already know what's going to happen.Wardemon50
haha.
sorry dude. i got a rush in typing the topic.
so if you wanted a joke, then you could say "i was having diarrhea when i bought this game."
there, rather, i felt the pains when i played both games, so AFTER i bought(see first post).
i admit my topic is ambiguous.

Well, I did buy it not really knowing If I'd like it and I could've bought Civilization Revolution:(
[QUOTE="Squall18"]Ok, I'm prepared to be flamed.
the Darkness. It's hard to believe that that game came from 2k after playing bioshock.
MonkaTG
i thought the Darkness was an amazing game
I've dropped a total of $150 on Halo 3... three different times.
I bought it NEW shortly after launch for $60... didnt give it a chance and traded it in.
Then I bought it USED months ago because it was $40 and I wanted to give it another shot... I loved it, but traded it in to buy Condemned 2 for a low price... stupid trade.
And then just yesterday I rebought it for the final, and last time USED for $50. Never again. I'm keeping it.
So yeah, if dropping that much on a game isnt painful...
Oh, and Haze was the worst $30 I've ever spent. No kidding.
