The Gaming Industry (Bethesda, Naughty Dog, Microsoft, Sony, More) Comes Together To Celebrate Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Nintendo put out a truly special game, and the entire industry is celebrating. I think we can all agree that Breath of the Wild is a truly great game, and restores the prestige to Zelda that it had been losing for some time. And we can agree that whether or not we personally like it (because there are certain posters on this board who have been tripping over themselves to tell us ho the game sucks because they don't like it), the game is in fact great- and everyone actually involved in the making of games, including the guys who make your favorite ones, agrees.

I think fanboys are too short sighted to see that great games are great games, and people who make games love great games- so they will love one no matter who made it or where it came from.

Funny, yesterday I suggested some of these developers take notes on the new Zelda; turns out, they already are.

I guess it really aggravates people who had no plans to play the game in the first place, and people who just like to see a company fail for no reason other than their own pompous desires.

Graphics are great and all, but honestly if that's the only thing you care about, I feel sorry for you. You missed out on a lot of games that actually play like games.

Just got my copy for the Wii U today. Can't wait to play it once I get home.

I've been playing it at a decent rate this week.

I have to say this is the closest thing I've ever experienced to a living and breathing world. I have no idea how nintendo accomplished this game. Especially considering the hardware. It's a testament to quality craftsmanship.

Hopefully Naughty Dog learns a thing or two from Zelda. How to make good puzzles, climbing that has some actual tension involved, and that fun and creativity are great things to have in games.

That doesn't make it a bribe. Sony and Microsoft also send out consoles to reviewers when they release a new system, along with the games. They kinda have to if they expect these people to review it prior to release.

Also, if Nintendo are bribing them, why is 1-2-Switch scoring no higher than a 6 on even the most hardcore Nintendo sites? Why is the Switch itself getting mediocre reviews? Shouldn't these also be scoring better?

With all the hype surrounding Zelda, Nintendo had no need to bribe anyone. We all saw the reaction last E3, the stampede to Nintendo's booth, the multiple "game of show" and "most anticipated" awards. It may not be a 10 for you, it's not for me (I give it a 9 for anyone wondering), but that in no way means that the only reason it scored 10's was because Nintendo bribed them.

Zelda: BotW should be great for the gaming industry.

He's not possible to rate it anything, he hasn't even played the game to give it a rating. He's too busy playing Gears of War 4.

Zelda Breath of the Wild is the best game I have ever played.

It's so good I don't really want to complete it. I don't want it to end. The game is a masterpiece.

The game is probably a great game but it runs at 720p. Thats unacceptable in 2017.

My NS will make a great secondary system to my PS4 as my Gamecube did for my PS2.

However, the reviewers concluded that a simple bribe of money was not enough, they needed more, for this was not to be a simple bribe. This was to be the game that received the most perfect scores of all time, the one game to rule them all, perhaps for the rest of eternity. Thus, every video game reviewer is now part of this global conspiracy. They formed a secret circle, where they all got together and accepted sacrifices, only then they agreed, agreed to make Zelda the best reviewed game of all time.

78 critics on Metacritics is not equal to every known professional reviewer in every country. Your logic is equally dumb.

Reading the forums it's almost like people become angry if Nintendo does something right. It's odd. I was one of the people giving Nintendo a hard time for their screw ups but I'm having a hard time trying to justify giving them hell for making an exceptional game. Yet so many here have no problem. How do you do it?
