The generation of disappointment

am i the only one in thinking that alot of the games thus far (esp in the past 6 months) have been dissapointing? it seems people are hyping anything and everything and you finally play them and well they are just *meh* games such as army of 2, devil may cry 4 and today i played vegas and well its not that much better than the first one.

its been a long time since i played a game and thought wow this is awesome... anyone else feel this way?

This generation is ok for me, but it seems that some games are def not living up to there hype, personaly I think there is too much hype this gen... not that the games are worse just that they are hyped up too much.

Actually this games never supposed to be AAA. This generation has A LOT much better games

Actually, I think it's the games you're playing. DMC4's hype level was about right... not the greatest but still a really fun game. Army of 2 & Vegas, I was never so excited for those in the first place.

But as for this gen... with games like Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Mass Effect, & Bioshock... HELL NAW I haven't been disappointed!

All of those games you listed underwhelmed me execpt for Bioshock. Maybe I've just been playing games too long.

I'm liking it more than last gen. It's basically what I expected.

those games you mentioned mass effect isnt bad. my brother loves it completed it numerous times

super mario galaxy like i said it brought something new i liked it alot.

uncharted as well got me to blow off the dust on the ps3 too lol

but yeh past 6 months all these games that have been hyped, and there has been a fair few u have heard alot of talk about have just beenunfulfillingfor me,

I have bought 11 games in less than 2 months, so no.l-_-l

RSV and SC Double Agent were great at the beginning. Gears of War was great, Halo 3 was okay and CoD4 is good( although a bit overrated). Haven't really played my Wii that much, however and my PC is getting too outdated :(

I don't know if Company of Heroes constitutes as current gen, but if so that was also ****ing amazing

Everygame is hyped these days, while those who sit quietly and wait, with low enough expectations, generally have a much better time. At least, I know I do. But its hard to escape all the hype when your on a videogame website talking about videogames.

It took a little while for me to finally feel good about owning a Wii. After Galaxy finally came out I was a very happy Wii owner. Not to say the Wii doesn't have quite a few other great games, but Galaxy is a masterpiece in every sense of the word. And now with Brawl out....being a Wii owner is great. I got the Wii when it launched and was pretty disappointed for a while..but now I'm satisfied.

I have only had my 360 for about a month and would have probably been disappointed with it had I bought it early in the 360's life cycle. But over the last three years some great titles have been put out on the console, and I feel more than happy with my 360 purchase.

Then there is the PS3. This may be the first generation in a long time that I actually miss out on not owning all of the consoles. I usually buy all the console one year apart from one another. PS2 was the very first console I bought last gen and that thing has an incredible library of course. However it's the opposite with the PS3. Especially if you're already the owner of a 360. The PS3 would be my console to get next year....but if I don't see some more great exclusives I may just stick with Wii360.

Overall this gen is not disappointing. But compared to last gen, it isn't as good.
