The GOW3 trailer really isn't that special

People seem to be over reacting over this trailer, I mean it has graphics on par with gears and uncharted but the trailer itself wasn't too special.

It had nearly no story elements shown, and when I watched it I didn't get that oh **** this is awsome feeling. Even though it was said to be gameplay it doesnt look it, maybe small clips of it but the whole thing...no. here is an example of the oh **** feeling I was talking about

I thought the trailer was awesome. However I do agree the graphics are overhyped, but it's still a long way from release and it will improve a lot till then.Master-Thief-09

I fully expect Killzone 2 level hype for this game before it is all said and done.

Many doubted KZ2 would deliver in the end http://www.metacritic.com/games/platforms/ps3/killzone2 but it appears that it has.

Hopefully the same can be said for God of War 3 when it comes out.

i don't get it either, and i LOVE the god of war series (and yes, i'll be sure it pick up this one as well)

but it didn't look that great, i thought the lion claw thing was dumb, and the only OH COOL thing in the trailer that wasn't totally expected was when the whole "earth" moves and you see its all taking place on a titan

I thought it was great, from start to finish. Just showed in a short amount of time what makes God Of War such an epic series for me. One of the few trailers that caught my attention in a major way. Still I'm just a major God Of War/Kratos fan.IIJuggaNottII

2 months before the games release there will be HUGE hype over it, bigger then killzone and mgs4, and there will be a hype thread with more then 5000 views, along with graphics that will make every1s jaw drop!

Kratos was fighting a huge Troll. ...on top of a freaking Titan. ...while scaling Mount Freaking Olympus! ...to inevitably slay GODS!!

I mentioned this in the Kotaku forums recently. But this game does not look that good to receive all of its graphics hype. GoW falls in line with all previous gen franchises making a transition into the current gen where fans are just amped to see their beloved franchises make the jump to HD...Everything from Halo, Metroid, and MGS fanboys from every camp has overhyped the entry titles in terms of graphics, gameplay, story, etc, etc when in reality all of these titles got was a fresh coat of paint. PS2 fanboys are going ballistic over GoW because they can finally see detail on their precious Kratos and a decent draw distance....Now all of a sudden this is the title that will destroy everything on the 360 and clear setermine the PS3 as the winning of the console wars...

I say just enjoy the game for what it is and stop hyping every damn game that launches on from the previous gen as the second coming. Judge the game on its merit today, not the nostalgia of gaming past.
