Judging by the e3 gameplay footage. You can no longer argue that it's in pre Alpha or that it's multiplayer(because it's not). Once again Bungie hyped us all up with an impressive looking cinematic trailer months ago claiming it's in engine and then breaking our hearts by showing us how different the actual game looks.

I don't care how much of a fanboy you are, horrendous is not the word that should be used to describe Reach's graphics.

Its not on par with todays console pusher like unchated2, kz2,3, gow, crysis two ect however it still looks good.

I hate how it looks tbh. While its technically better its like they sucked the life force out of halo 3. I miss the bright vibrant colors. The pallet is ALOT dimmer and duller now, it just idk.. doesnt look as fun

LOL. This thread has made me go through all those "OH CRAP!" moments from the beta. Like when my friend and I were sitting on the lower level of the base on power house. He had rockets and I had the nade launcher. OF COURSE the entire team was sitting across the bridge. The next 5 seconds resulted in a double kill for both of us and the entire enemy team respawning... OH God that was awesome. Neither of us knew what happened until we heard the "double kill" sound twice (we were playing split screen).

I did. Not heavily hyped for multiplayer. I'd rather see a campaign demo. That's where the show really is in terms of graphics and story.

ugh, I played the beta. And it was whatever I got bored because idk. I got bored during the Halo 3 beta as well and only played it for like a day so im not going to hold that to what the final experience is going to be like

Graphics and story are all part of what make a game good, but w/o good gameplay, there is no reason to PLAY it. Graphics and story by themselves arent fun from a game standpoint. My response was in regards to the original quote which you removed from your post which said the game wasnt fun. My point is that graphics and story have nothing to do with what you responded to.

Let me break it down to you. There are a lot more gamers who don't care about online mp than the ones who do. Graphics and story can come a long way, just look at what graphics did for Killzone 2. They took a turd of a game and put good graphics on it and suddenly it's a decent fps to some people. You'd be surprised what graphics can do. Story is also very much important and can change the perception of what's fun. Look at Kotor. Again, mediocre gameplay with incredible story and content and suddenly it's the best rpg of the decade.

Right you're completely new to GS. Anyway, KZ2 got a 9 here for more than just graphics. But an even better example would have been God of War 3 since it has no multiplayer component. Yet it managed to score the same as MW2, KZ2 and ODST.

Oh you are breaking it down for me huh? Its true there are a lot of players that couldnt care less about online mp. That is why Bungie always has and always will support lan and 4 player splitscreen...BTW, Kotor had awesome gameplay.

It might be, So let's straighten this out. My priority for Halo reach is the campaign. If we are to discuss it's graphics, then I feel multiplayer will not do the game justice. I would like to see campaign footage before I say anything about Reach's graphics. That's really all.

Yeah I'm sure the amazing gameplay had something to do with it. Nobody talks about KZ2, overshadowed by the much preferred Call of Duty. If KZ2 didn't have the graphics, everyone would acknowledge for the turd it is. Halo has never had good graphics yet manages to be critically acclaimed because it's the prime example of gameplay>graphics.

Wait so KZ2 winning Shooter of the year and beating ODST and MW2 means KZ2 is a lesser game? Ok dude look. We went through this already in the foliage fights. I'm not stupid ok. You pick two games and you center your flood of threads around them. This time trying to look less like a lemming. You are failing hard my friend.

Halo Reach's graphics are fine. They are not horrendous. Not the best, but not horrendous.
