Wipeout Fusion (PS2) Review Score: 7.3 | Release Date: Jun 17, 2002
F-Zero GX (GC) Review Score: 8.6 | Release Date: Aug 26, 2003

yeah, what?
F-Zero GX is one of the few games I'd consider giving a 10. The only drawback was that the story mode was near impossible on Very Hard (which has to be beaten in order to obtain all items and characters). The arcade link didn't make much sense either seeing as arcades are dead. But other than that, a fast, challenging racing game that requires skill, intelligence, and quick reflexes. When I beat all cups on Master in a row without losing a single life still remains one of my greatest gaming achievements of all time.
And to the guy who mentioned Wipeout: sorry, but it's maybe just good enough to polish Captain Falcon's boots.
[QUOTE="CaptainHarley"]Gotta admit, that game was a blast too. Had many good days playing it. agreed, but going back to it , it can see it has problems that revenge fixed. however revenge introduced new problems, like traffic checking making the game too easy. hopefully the next burnout title will return to its previous splendor[QUOTE="web966"]Burnout 3 is the best racer ever.Vennligsinnet
First of all, no, that's five years, not four. This is 2010, my good man. Secondly, no  GT4 isn't close to being anywhere near the 'best racer.'Gran Turismo 4 came out in 2005. Thats only 4 years...

F-Zero GX was a very fun game. A sequel would be fantastic. But why compare it to Wipe-out? F-Zero is an old game that hasnt had a sequel in years so technically they arent rivals.

Hmmm,Wipeout HD Fury wasn´t reviewed but has an average score of 9.1.
Also,Wipeout Pure= 8.8
Wipeout Pulse 8.0
Wipeout XL= 8.5
Wipeout 3= 8.3(average 8.7)
Not to mention that, although isn´t reviewed here, the original Wipeout had stellar reviews.
I´d say that Wipeout is the better series.
[QUOTE="NielsNL"]Wipeout is slow and has a weird center of gravity. The powerups make luck a factor, and you have to really slow down for tight turns. Also, the last two games have been on PSP. The analog stick just doesn't work well for racing games. Wrong last wipeout game is on ps3 - wipeout HD and the wipeout fury expansion it's $15 now on PSN and it even has a platinum trophy. Tons of tracks, crafts and modes, plus zone and zone reverse and zone combat modes.. 1080p 60 fps - wow can't believe you didn't know! Don't you go online on ps3? It's also free with psn plus.Wipeout series >>> F-Zero

they already made-pikmin in the form of a remake and are completing pikmin 3 as stated in the myamotos new character article
so scratch that off
starfox is getting a remake on 3ds and i think theyll do a wii one by next year causei dont know whats left from them
fzero as well , these are our 4 options -new game entirely
fzero
starfox
and fzero
there is one though i want and its never had a sequal since 1994 -stunt race fx
I'd love to see a new F-Zero game.
I think it would be perfectly suited to the 3DS also because the whole 3D effect would really work well with a game like F-Zero.
Heh, I'll buy GT5 and I'd definitely get a new F-Zero game. I can understand why some may not like arcade racers but since both simulator racers and arcade ones are so different, I can play the two alongside each other. I guess I just like racing games in general :P.you guys can keep f-zero and wipeout ugh, I'll take gran turismo.

um im getting my reviews based on gamespot, no where else. another thing is look how many versions of whip out there is. im not even counting the other ones. im counting the gamecube version and the ps2 version, since there more rivals than anything before and after it.[QUOTE="hd5870corei7"]First of all, no, that's five years, not four. Wipeout on the PS3 had reviewed the HD version only(on GS),not the full package that came out retail only in Europe called HD Fury. That´s why GS,being an american based site, hasn´t reviewed it,and that package got praised by most european sites and mags.
The scores you see are all from GS,I only added a couple of averages for informational purposes only.
Also, the post that you and ColdP1zza quoted was about the series as a whole, not just a few iterations, and so I will mantain my opinion that as a series, the Wipeout franchise is better.

omg it so does.. I first played it and was like... wtf... Why is this.. so weird? Like it feels so odd just too turn for some reason
they are both hover games, but Wipeout has a more floaty feel to it, as opposed to Fzero hugging the road.
I don't know if Wipeout is meant to possibly a conceptual simulation of hover cars in the future?
It does require some adjusting and control.
Did you mean to post about this game, OP?
Raymundo_Manuel
that's the game I'm talking about for the Xbox.
Curly Monsters I think had some of the same staff or devs who worked on the Wipeout game(s)
Fatal Inertia for the Xbox360 doesn't provide that same thrill of speed that Quantum Redshift has.

Sir.... what are you saying? This is blasphemous.

Skill. Pure skill. (and faster than F-Zero ever gets)
1000 miles per hour racing
fine tuned control
amazing soundtrack
captain falcon
30 man races
hypnotic graphics
Challenging gameplay
F Zero GX is the best arcade racer of all time. The sense of speed in this game is amazing. Losing in a grand prix? Kill the other guy so he can't get any points. Need some more speed? Boost power comes directly out of your health gauge. High risk, High reward.
Watch this very tense video of the last story mode chapter. 1000 km/h, and if you fall off you have to start over.
Nintendo, F Zero ZX with 30 man online races. Pleeeeease.
Wipeout just seems sloppy compared to this game.

I am sure the Wii will get a F-Zero game...I am sure the GT5 gamers would be afraid of that. When they do make it I hope the let Daft Punk do the music.
