It does everything better then every other generic (whatever that means)shooter on the market right now.

Having put two weeks into Halo 3 I can safely say it's the best FPS ever made, and I've played all the classics on PC and Consoles. Sure hermits will laugh but Halo 3 really is a amazing game online when you get good at it and play other good players.

That's a hell of an overstatement. There are a lot better shooters than Halo on the market right now. If you seriously dont know what it means, calling something generic is like calling it 'common'. As in, its nothing different from other things out there. I.e. Halo and Halo 2.

Halo 3 was a darn good game, but it has several issues that prevent it from being the best game ever made:

Backtracking in many areas, stupid ally AI, inconsistent enemy AI, bad/stupid level design in some areas ( particulary the level "Cortana"), a serious lack of any real boss fights, some minor performance and visual issues, some fairly bad pacing and story problems, and a few another nitpicks that really don't need to be included here.

So, no, Halo 3 is not the greatest game of all time, though it certainly overcomes the aformentioned faults to stand as a very well done and damn fun FPS with a whole hell of alot to offer.

There isnt as much as you like to think that has reached critical acclaim from both professional and fan reviewers alike.

You can call it common as many times as want, their is nothing like it, it is the only game that uses every concept from the the FPS and does right, so in that sense you can call it generic because you shoot people.
