I find it ironic how Sony is chasing FPS which is Microsoft's specialty while Microsoft is chasing RPG's which is Sony's homeground.

I own a PS3 and I've been waiting a long time for soem JRPG's but it seems that only the 360 is getting the love. I found my FPS fill with CoD4 and I'm hoping Killzone 2 and Resistance 2 at least offer the same amount of FPS enjoyment but I'm hoping Sony starts focusing on RPG's soon after.

I'm actually not a big RPG fan but I've been dying to play a few RPG games.

It seems that all the focus is on innovation. Not that I don't mind, I'll enjoy LBP and possibly Heavy Rain, but I want a good RPG already.

What do you think of this?

It's just marketing. Sony needs to gain a stable foothold outside of Japan and what better way to do that than with shooters? Microsoft seems to have the most 3rd party developer support, and in turn gets RPGs and shooters, not to mention they've been focusing on Japanese sales since launch, so they're promoting their JRPGs quite a bit. It really makes things hard on early adopters who would've expected more of the same from their company's brand.

Yeah it is funny.

Personally though apart from oblivion I am not into RPG's much. I like shooters, action racers and LBP 9dont know what to call that)

Thats companies for you they neglect their current customers and spend more resources trying to get more customers, getting the competitions customers is just an added bonus.

What is also funny is how Nintendo promises innovation and then shows us Call of Duty, Star Wars, Rabbids TV Party, and Guitar Hero. Oh the irony!

Sony doesn't make or publish a whole lot of jrpgs , they never did ..... they just fell into their laps in the past. I am really happy with the ps3's lineup so far though , it fts my tastes better.

To me this gen looks like both Sony and MS were trying to shore up weaknesses and MS has just simply been better at it so far.

They have delivered more Jrpgs and even snagged FFXIII while all we have seen from Killzone 2 is 40 months of hype.

RFOM was ok and all but the real star in the PS3 shooter lineup so far has been Warhawk.
