The Last of Us is what Resident Evil 6 should have been

I'm a big fan of RE series, really loved RE 3, although RE 4 was very good, I felt kinda dissappointed that Capcom remove so many things that make RE 3 so good. And then came RE 5, it's not scary anymore but I still finished it although I hate the co-op element in that game, and then came RE 6, bought it, finished Leon campaign, and I sold it. It's one of the worst game I ever played of all time.

Then I played The Last of Us. I'm so amazed...this is the game RE 6 should have been.

Scary enemies? Check

Intense atmosphere? Check

Spectacular action? Check

Good storyline? Check

Awesome crafting mechanic? Check

Likable characters? Check

Good third-person-shooting mechanic? Check

I think TLOU is the best action survival game this generation. Capcom really should learn from ND how to make a good action survival game.

RE6 should be a HORROR game, not an surivival adventure. Those are two different genres.

And the characterisitcs you listed can be aplied to any more or less successful third person shooter.

not really... the gameplay is solid on REvelations but that's as far as it got. The enemy variation is quite silly.... there was still too many rambo moments. There was no horror or tense situations where you felt that you was going to die and get a game over.

Yep, it's like a sequel to Resident Evil 4.

Thought Resi 6 was pretty darn good.  I got it for cheap not expecting much but had an absolute blast playing it through start to finish.  Not without its boring segments, but hot damn was it a good time.

RE4 is a check point arcade shooting action game. it is very far from what the RE franchise is used to be, a very engaging Survival Horror game.

Had RE4 been its own standalone game, it would have been lauded by every RE fan because of just how f*cking amazing it is. The game is more than 8 years old and it still does action/pace better than modern games.

Aside from REmake, the old RE games are outdated trash now, you know it to be true. The horror is not good, the story is not good, the gameplay is not good, the survival aspect is the only thing they had going for them and even now games do that much better.

Seriously, you can't play those games now and say "Man it's even better than I remember!".

Being yet another turgid, tedious whack a mole cover shooter with some crappy stealth isn't "spectacular action".

Resident Evil 6 had this though, and it had the benefit of having fun melee attacks, fast action, and didn't force you to creep around behind cover 90% of the time.

For all of RE6's problems (horrible pacing, the game being a constant stream of QTEs and cutscenes, nonsensical story, bosses that never die) it was a far more enjoyable experience than The Last of Us's pure generic whack a mole cover shooter tedium. RE6's core gameplay was actually fun, it's too bad everything around it was horrible.

I love tomb raider -2013 its one of my fav tps this gen.
