Motorstorm - still fun though

Crackdown - still fun though

Zelda - still great though

Super Paper mario - still cool though

I'd say only 1 flop there, in Red Steel. If the other games had decent critical reception and sales, how are they flops?masterpinky2000

Some will try to deny it, but it was pretty much the game that was gonna validate the Wii.

Lost Planet was only hyped AAA very early on, when the reviews started coming in the majority had been hyping it AA for weeks.
Resistance however was hyped AAA, GOTY and the game that would make GeoW look like rubbish next to it right up to it's release.

Thing is most people don't take what cows hype seriously anymore. If you hold a gun, its in a first person perspective, and it's exclusive to PS(whatever), it's automatically a "Halo killer."

In the really real world, Perfect Dark Zero is the biggest flop of this gen by a mile.

This guy's got it right. All of those other games are incredibly fun and sold well, additionally.

Agreed. Probably one of the most boring games I have ever expected to be killer app in my life. 

No, just no.
You had Microsoft backing a game which was recieving great previews and looked amazing.
You had Microsoft advertising this game like mad and setting up events to show off the game pre launch.
Sony's only answer to this game was Resistance, and seeing as Gears' release date had been set to disrpt the PS3 launch this was Sony's biggest hope of their launch going off with a bang, cows hyped the game because it was the only real game Sony had to contend with not only gears but Microsoft entire libary thus far.

Of course cows were going to hype it to high heaven, they didn't need lemmings to use underhanded tricks to encourage them, the fact they were claiming they were going to have the game of the year was enough to encourage cows to hype Resistance as AAA, and you have to agree cows were hyping it as being better than gears and GOTY.

You have to remember you're dealing with fanboys here, they're going to go for the the level of hype which allows them to claim the game is amazing and to use it in their arguments before it's released. What would cows be making threads about if they'd hyped Resistance and Motorstorm correctly, they'd have nothing much to counter arguments for months.jimbob9999

it still looks and plays better than any ps3 exclusive shooter.  plus it didnt get that much hype around launch cuz cod 2 really stole a ton of its thunder in the weeks leading up to the launch.  not to mention the fact thats its a solid 9.0.

A lot of people are going to have to disagree. Crackdown is a great game. It would've been amazing and a GTA killer had it not been crippled by the poor, short story and inability to restart it without deleting your character.

First of all, many reviews DID give it an AAA, so maybe you have no idea what you're talking about. Secondly, after playing it, it does in fact deserve a 8. GS's rating is just one rating and doesn't make a difference. 7.9 is close enough to being a friggin AA anyway, why not just call it that? Because everyone else agrees it should be 8 or higher.

but here, all those other reviews don't matter - so there is no point in bringing them up
