The lowest scoring games on gamespot that you liked this gen?

I don't know if the rating scale is just insanely flawed, or if gamers are just insanely lucky to have reviewers telling them how crappy a game is when the worst games so many have played are in the 7 zone.

Personally, I thought DNF was meh, but I enjoyed it. At 3.5 its the lowest scored game I've ever liked, and probably ever played (though the reviews were "averagely mediocre" most other palces at 6's and 5's). It was cheap fun, just classic old school gaming that didn't age well, but managed to have semi modern graphics.

I also loved Alpha Protocol despite its mediocre reception, its the perfect showcase of Obsidian's strengths and flaws (except for maybe Mew Vegas). Its got all the great RPG features and meaningful choices and interactions and fun skill building, but no polish, no balance, and despite a decent story and writing, Obsidian probably should have hired some more enthusiastic voice actors (like they did with New Vegas).

The lowest score that GameSpot has given this generation to a game that I loved was Endless Ocean: Blue World. Blue World got an 8/10, but I think it deserved higher & I actually think it is miles better than anything else on Wii. All the other games I've liked this generation have gotten 8.5/10 or higher from GameSpot.

I thought Godfather II was a fun game when it wasn't broken. Although I agree with the 4.5 it was given because it was broken, I did really like the working parts of the game.

what was broken exacly? I played the game and plated it. I never ran into any gameplay problems. I also really enjoyed it.

Definitely Splatterhouse. Gamespot gave it a 4.5, but it's no where near a broken game. It's very underrated.

Yea I dont know why it scored so low. Yea there was some tec issues but I would proboly give it a 6.

I don't know if 7.5 can be considered low, but Castlevania:LoS and Saboteur were both great for me. Oh, and Ratchet and Clank:ToD.

Some off my head

Nier-the games music,story and characters are just great. It was just lacking in combat and graphics,but it didint kill it.

Avp: I highly enjoyed this game. I dont see what was so terrible about it. Only huge negatives I can think of is proboly no iron sight and the mp playing on rank matches was god awful. It makes me laugh that one of negatives was how the alien controls when from memory it felt the same way as the pc games and thats a good thing.

splatterhouse:some tech issues but still alot of fun and some fine voice work from the mask.

duke nukem: no where near a 3 it wasint that bad.

proboly more but cant think of them now.

Killing Floor (7.5), League of Legends (6.0), Mount & Blade: Warband (7.5), Serious Sam HD: First Encounter (5.0).

All games I'd consider better than the average AAA shooter.

Alpha Protocol

Alpha Protocol got a 6, was a very fun game. No way it deserves more than an 8 though, there's way too much wrong with it.

Lost Odyssey @ 7.5 was a 9.0 when released and hmm, yeah, it still is. :P

Crackdown @ 7.0 is the funest co-op sandbox game of the gen. and no less than an 8.5 !!

Blue Dragon was quite excellent, I loved the artstyle and music

Rampage: Total Destruction (Wii) got a 5.1 here and I've spent countless hours on it. Still one of my favourite Wii games, to be honest.

Hunted: The Demon's Forge. I reckon that I'll enjoy Ace Combat: Assault Horizon too once I get my hands on it.

Skyward Sword is the lowest scoring one on GameSpot that I've enjoyed the most. The other one that I really enjoyed was Mirror's Edge, easily one of my favourite titles all gen.

I enjoyed The Saboteur and Skyward Sword alot more than what this site gave them. I know alot of people are going to say Infamous 2 but I didn't disagree with the score so much, I would have given it an 8. I did disagree with the context of the review though, his reasoons for docking it were BS like it turns black and white, so stupid. And the SS review was COMPLETE garbage, I swear the guy never played it because the controls work great and GS is hypocritical. They said SS is too similar to the other Zelda games so they give it a 7.5 BUT they give MW3 an 8.5? Yeah that makes no sense....

Also I thought Killzone 3 was underrated, it deserved a 9.5 IMO. But the important thing to remember is that reviews are just OTHER peoples opinions and not your own, it's okay to use them for a general referene about a game, but don't let them be the ultimate factor for you. So there is no reason to get upset at them, remember all that matters is what you think of the game.

I've been contemplating getting it for a long time now but something always seemed to come in between.

Personally I've had a lot of fun withSaboteur.

At the moment im enjoying Dead Island, I put it down after a few hours went back to it many weeks later then just poured so much time into it.

Saboteur was amazing, the atmosphere of the city, the countryside the music that fit perfectly with the time period made the game fully worth playing despite some of its flaw and sorta weak story.

Imma make it short. Basicly the music is just great. It fits the mood and is memorible. I actually stood still in the town with the girl singing so I can hear it its that good. The story is good and intersting as well and is best understood with multiple playthroughs. Thanksfully the devs knew this and made it that it wasint a pain or long to do so. The story actually touched me emotionally and made me go "wow". that wouldint mean much if the characters blew but thankfully you have likeable characters with great voice work. The only negative is the meh combat and meh graphics but its not enough to bring it down. The game is also dirt cheap and worth picking up.

Alpha Protocol. I enjoyed it way more than Mass Effect 2.
