Lets be serious. The PS2 has always sold the most copies of Madden since it has the highest user base. But when the Madden Challenge went to the Xbox a lot of people who played the game went out to buy xbox's in order to play the "true" version of Madden. Sales for Madden on the xbox sky rocketed. Now since Microsoft has a three year deal with MS with the Madden Challenge being on an MS platform most likely the Challenge will be played on the 360. With no huge user base to make a huge impact in sales how will this impact both consoles to the casual gamer? Will people not care? Or will people choose the 360 because that is where Madden has decided to go. Keep in mind even if you hate Madden the power of The Madden Challenge is undeniable.

Nope. Madden is only played by the Americans and 360 sold enough units there(bet you that 90% are mad Madden fans)so i don't see it boosting 360's sales.

you make a very good point..... I have been playing in Madden Tourneys since 2002 and ever since the Challenge tourney required you to use a XBox controller (hence the contract with MS) alot of my friends have bought XBOXones for the 2006/07 tourneys......I have held off and it has affected my game (I hate the XBOXone Controller) and have never bought the XBOX......so I have stopped playing in the Tourneys lately......

but here is the thing..... people bought their Xboxes because of the controller being different and different control settings of the placement of the L2 & R2 compared to the BLACK and White buttons on the XBOX......but

1. most of my friends who bought XBOXes for these Tourneys really do/did not purchase other games but just madden and sometimes NBA Live......

2.  I have Madden on the PS3 and have gotten used to the new Control settings (even though I don't like them) but guess what, I don't have to get a XBOX360 to compete in the Challenges because the controls are the exact same thing (thanks to MS changing the controller design, which now is similar to the PS3 stick)

so because of this I don't think people will get a XBOX360 just because the tourneys will require you to be familiar with the XBOX360 controller...... so the only advantage that MS had was the first year when serious PS2 madden players had to get a XBOXone stick to compete.....

first of all i think the madden challange didnt make a bit of difference considering madden sold more copies on PS2 over 360 and xbox so far every year. but i will say 360 will sell more madden copies than ps3, cause of the lead they have not because of the madden challenge.
