TC I disagree with your choice but I would help you. The reason you can't post images is because you have to be level 5 or above (I think I know you have to be level 5 to make a poll so I think it is the same with Images) But to post images you have to type in [img]Url adress [ / i mg] without any spaces. or you can just click on the icon beside the smiley face the one that has a tree on it then just paste the url their.

[QUOTE="stenderoni"] That's what I meant. I used to think that there was no such thing as a most revolutionary game but NBA Street Homecourt proved that there is such a thing. How can you say that the game is not the most revolutionary without playing it? You should try and find a place in your heart for this wonderful game. stenderoni

It didn't revolutionize anything. It is just another sports game. And where exactly did you pull the information that I haven't played it from? I have played it, it is nothing special. It did not, and will not change gaming in any way. Mario 64 did it with its 3D platforming, Halo did it with it making FPSs good on consoles, yet this did nothing.

How can you have played the game and still make these claims? Does. not. compute.

To. Freaking. Bad. There are plenty of games that are 10X better, look better graphically, and are actually revolutionary unlike this game. It is not a RPG, it is not a racing game, it is not a RTS, it is not a TPS, IT IS a decent sports simulator And NOTHING MORE.

[QUOTE="stenderoni"][QUOTE="MonsieurX"]So,you call a basketball game a mix of TPS,RPG and RTS? Graphics better than U2? If it realy revolutionarized gaming, why aren't we seeing more and more games like that?Meowmixxvi
We don't see more games like it because the formula is so amazing that its super hard to duplicate.

agreed! :D

thirded :D  8)

lol at the TC, he's probably got like a shrine where he plays it. Seriously, a freaking basketball game, come on.... get out of your cave and play some other games - you'll see how much better they are

I say Half Life. It really revolutionized the whole FPS genre. Quake gets credit for starting the true 3D engine which Half Life was partially based off though.

I don't have a shrine (that would be obsessive and weird), but like I said, I do like to play the game with my curtains closed, almost naked and with some candles lit. It gets me "in the mood" in you know what I'm saying.

It hasn't even endured two years. It's got a low player base.

Moby Dick and The Great Gatsby are considered legendary in literature and not a lot of people read those books at the time. It will be the same for NBA Street Homecourt. Mark my words.

A game isn't a classic if it's 2 1/2 years. Moby Dick has been around since 1851 and The Great Gatsby was written in 1925. After 2 1/2 years, a game that has never had a moderate sized player base can't be compared to two books that are moderately old. The only exception I'd make is Valkyria Chronicles, because of how unique it is. Homecourt is just another Street basketball game.

You make up all these rules about what can be a classic but NBA Street Homecourt is just one of those things that goes against all conventional wisdom. It's. just. that. damn. good. If you actually took time to play the game you'd know that. BTW I played Valkyria Chronicles and I liked it alot but its got nothing on NBA Street Homecourt. I actually used to own it but I traded in all my games to buy a bunch of copies of NBA Street Homecourt and an extra PS3 to play it on cause I'm scared about what would happen if my PS3 broke down and I couldn't play it or if I lost my copy.

Actually, no, it won't. If it was as popular as you claim, it would be praised by people OTHER than you on Gamespot. And yeah, tons of people are still playing a bunch of games. Sonic on the Genesis, Mario on the NES/SNES, Zelda on the NES/SNES/N64, heck, maybe even Halo/2 on the Xbox. Those are all, and will remain, over 10X more popular than NBA Street Homecourt. The rating for the game is an 82/100......... Not very well compared to the others.

It's impossible to name a winner in this, just because games are all too different from one another. A game that paved the way for platformers would have had very little effect on RPGs or fighters.

But even if we could pick a winner, it wouldn't be homecourt. There are tons of other games that have contributed a lot more to gaming.
