The New Super Mario has great Long Distance Rendering and good shaders.

Look at this and tell me the Wii isn't the revolution Nintendo hyped. Some of Nintendo's new shaders are really next gen the glass and plastic sphere shaders in particular are amazing, and it has the control wand to go with it.

I'm not bashing the game. I'm bashing the use of bad, over the top acting in all of Nintendo's commercials. They can't seem to advertise a game without spending half the time flaunting the Wiimote. I want to get pumped for the game they're trying to sell, not watch a bunch of bad actors look ridiculous while playing it.

Nintendo has worked very hard to maximise the output of the Wii's graphics in this game. I hope they release the 'engine' for this game to other developers, so that third party games can look better in future.

The effect is basically like what Rare did with the SNES. Donkey Kong Country on the SNES had people wondering how they managed to make something that looked like a Saturn game or maybe even a bit like a PS1 game on the SNES.

Your missing the point of why it's played in that way. The video is just showing that to people.

yea... I can understand that. But for the first time in a Wii commercial... I think the expressions were more "realistic" than ever.

I get strangely giddy when I play a Mario platformer :|

All the companies do that. There's a PSP commercial with two guys in an elevator, and the one without the PSP is going crazy.Then there's the Halo 3 ad with all the gamers jumping out of their chairs and screaming at the TV.

I agree that most Nintendo ads are pretty lame.

All the second player does is point at stuff and collect star bits. :|

Don't get me wrong, I'm hyping SMG 9.5 here, but the multiplayer is not one of its best aspects.
