I played the demo a couple of weeks ago. The framerate looked a bit twitchy and the controls for the time manipulation were crap IMO. There were a couple of cool time control based obsticals. Overall the demo did make me want to rent the finished product, but it certianly didn'tgive me the "OMG I gotta buy this!" vibe.
You can make any game look cool in a 15 second ad. This game has had many re-writes and overhauls which generally leads to a crummy final product.

In this case it leads to a less crummy game though. The old version was quite awful. The second demo is much, much better. But still, the new paint doesn't cover up everything. Underneath it all it still feels a bit old with its linear level design, scripted AI and stiff controls. The AI seems decent enough when not being told what to do and given a larger environment, but there's just not enough of that kind of encounters. Reminds me a lot of FEAR when they do happen. So that's a shame.
