Look at it this way, when DVD came out, there were still a lot of VHS purists that insisted videotapes were better.

With that being said, I'm not a big fan of the idea of having co op play in a series known for solo play, but I'll still at least rent the game...

co-op is not forced in the single-player experience so I don't mind, Separate co-op mission are a welcome addition. NG was always praised as being a action game which plays like a fighter, I guess it makes sense since Ryu is also in DOA which is a 2 player fighting game. I reckon it's just a logical evolution of NG to make it slightly similar to DOA in that you can play it with a friend.

Worry not since co-op only lets you tackle individual missions while you still get to slash through the story plot alone. :)

I just noticed...Ninja Gaiden sure is getting a ton of love, but before it was announced for PS3 it was slaughtered...by a certain breed. I'm just sayin!!! I myself will get this game the same day I get my PS3. NGS2 and Infamous.

I own NGII on the 360 and I have to admit that I envy you PS3 owners. You're getting a version of the game, which is vastly superior to the original.
