The next 9.5

Not really meant as a flame thread, but I know it'll turn into one. Do you guys seriously believe any game on the horizon right now will score a 9.5, or maybe a 10?

First of all, a big majority of the hyped games atm are FPS games, and I cant really see any of them scoring that big. It'd need a revolution of the genre, and fancy graphics and being able to blow up more stuff isnt revolution nor innovation.

Mass Effect looks great and all, and I want to play it badly, but I dont see that one scoring that high either. GTAIV will be fun, but I dont see much new there either.

I do believe the overall quality of the hyped games is on the rise, and we'll see alot of solid 8.5-9.0 games, but above that... nah... Unless of course Gamespot has made it so every game that would've gotten over 9.2 on the old scale becomes a 9.5, then it'll be different.

Mass Effect has an excellent chance, even closer with an even higher chance IMO is Bioshock.

Possible 9.5/10: Mass Effect, Bioshock, Halo 3, Metroid Prime 3, SMG

Possible 9: Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, SSBB, UT3, Crysis

I think the big three for the wii will get solid 9.0's all around.

Unless SSBB doesn't have online....then it'll probably get 8.0-8.5. There would be absolutely no excuse for it not having online in this day and age.

but I think Grand Theft Auto is looking a bit rough for a 9.5.Trigger_Hppy

Last I read about GTA Rockstar said that GTA IV is about as big of a jump as going from 2-D to 3-D and in relation to the series, its like going from black and white to color.

Forgames having a good shot at scoring 9.5,would go for bioshock, mass effect and metroid prime 3.

One game often(?) overlooked is Lbp. It may not score 9.5. but I would call it a surefire AAA, unless there's something wrong in the bug/glitches department.

I have to agree with that 100%. However, I would also like to throw Lair in at getting a 9.0. As it seems to have really turned out to be a killer game, and every major site that has had a hands on with it have all come away amazed....including GS.This game is going catch alot of people off guard by how good it is, and will drop alot of jaws I think.

Uncharted and R&C have better chances of 9.5 than Heavenly Sword.

But Ratchet isn'ta complete provenAAA series. The only AAA was the first one.

Then the second one got 8.8, third got 8.7, fourth got 8.6, and the hand held one got 8.2.
