This is becoming quite tiresome, Free Radical and Factor 5 both attempted to make some ambitious new IPs that didn't do so hot in the review department. That it's somehow the fault of the console itself is really reaching for the moon, and those devs. are more at fault than the system they chose to work on.

If other third party devs. (or devs in general) really thought like that than we would have nothing but sequel after sequel of already proven franchises. Sure it's understandable for gamers to have high expectations after being 'pampered' with a great game/franchise; but to assume that all of their games will pass with flying colors presents a great naivety.

Living isn't worth it without the risks, and with risks consequences should be expected. Some posters here seem to live and die by catastrophe without seeing the 'light' at the end of the tunnel (cliche, I know.) Will this effect those devs. in the long run? Judging by what a number of gamers think of their track record, likely not.

It's just a stain on their shirt, a scuff on their timbs, a knot in their hair; they know how to make a good game and whichever system they work on shouldn't really prevent them from doing so.

Tbo I don't know if I agree with this or not. If it is easy(easier?) to make games on one system and more difficult for another system then to me it looks like more time will be spent in the planning phase for the easy system because the actual programming can be slapped together(for lack of a better word) and the game can be released.

With the difficult system the game needs to get into the production phase as soon as possible to ensure it hits it's release date.

Now this is just conjecture but to sum up I'm kind of thinking long planning phase vs shorter planning phase and that is completely dependent on how easy the system is to program on.

forget the reviews, as long as the game sells it doesn't matter. Lair and Haze aren't bad games their just average. I guarantee that if Haze was released a year earlier it would defiantly be at least 8.0.

Well that's what delays are for. ^_~

But to be serious, I see what you're saying; hurrying to meet a deadline can result in less time to fine tune the mechanics. Though devs. can still strike coal even if one system is easier to work on than another.
