I am most excited for:
BioShock
Mass Effect
Blue Dragon
Lost Odyssey
Eternal Sonata
Stranglehold
Assassin's Creed
Two Worlds
Jericho
GTA IV
Lair
Heavenly Sword
Uncharted
Little Big Planet
Super Mario Galaxy
No More Heroes
Disaster: Day of Crisis
Crysis
Spore
Alan Wake
Only 2 sequels. :)
Mass Effect, Crysis, Bioshock, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword and Assassin's Creed say hi.
Plus sequels can be radically different, like Splinter Cell: Conviction has little in common with any previous Splinter Cell game other than the characters.

i think people are forgetting million sellers dead rising, lost planet, motorstorm, resistance, gears of war and saints row.
all great games, all sold well, all first in their series.
That's not really true. If it were, a game like Gears of War wouldn't have sold well.
Games like Uncharted, Haze, Heavenly Sword, Mass Effect, Bioshock, No More Heroes, Little Big Planet, Infamous, Crackdown etc would not be in development, if nobody cared.
except for a few games like Spore, this industry will never change. but whatever, i guess its just human nature to go that direction.ishii255For the Mass Market yes ..... look at the most anticipated games ...
Metal Gear Solid 4
Final Fantasy XIII
Halo 3
Grand Theft Auto IV
Metroid Prime 3
Gears of War 2
Killzone 2
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Resident Evil 5
Resistance 2
Tekken 6
Unreal Tounament 3
The Getaway 3
God of War III
Grand Turismo 5
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destuction
Fable 2
Banjo-Kazzoie 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Mario Kart Wii
Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
Fire Emblem Wii
Who cares. Most games with new characters are just the same as some other game with some dude we don't know. For example, most FPS's mentioned in this thread are just wannabe Halo/Gears hybrids.elektrixxxVery true, that's why I like Nintendo games .... tried and true formula not tryiong to immitate anything ...
