They're the only games that feel like they're doing something that couldn't have been done on the HD twins and offering new gameplay experiences.
No game last generation could match the scope of X in terms of game world and philosophy. Those games which similarly sized overworlds, such as the Elder Scrolls games, were often buggy and had a very generic copy and paste feeling. Given Nintendo and Monolith Soft's track record with polish, it's unlikely X would be glitchy. X not only feel inspired in terms of art design, but the worlds are high in detail and massive as well. Couple that with the fact that it has online multiplayer, a feat that couldn't have been done with the likes of Fallout or Skyrim, and X truly feels like an next gen experience.
In terms of MGSV, open world stealth is an entirely new concept that couldn't have been done before. The game is also pretty much the best looking out of anything we've ever seen.
