I agree,I prefer Call of Duty:MW 3 over Battlefield 3.But I still like Battlefield 3.

BF3 still has better MP and the only reason MW3 won is because it's Mainstream and the VGAs are a mainstream award show just like the Oscars.

You do know that the VGAs are not voted by online people anymore? They have a panel of 25 voters from various publications.

Check the metacritic, BF3 on the PC has a higher score than MW3 on the consoles, the best best versions of the games.

And Gears 3 is better than Modern Warfare 3 in every possible way. Single player is better, Multi-player is much better, Gameplay is better, Graphics are better, Online community is better, More of a challenge, AI is better.

Modern Warfare 3 was alright...... Sadly after the offline segment is finished the game is useless.

It's a popularity contest bro. DOn't know if you haven't noticed, but Justin Bieber has won numerous awards, and people don't exactly agree with him beeing the best;)

The games aren't chosen by people online. Considering how BF fanboys completely downvoted MW3 on metacritic, does anyone really believe MW3 would have won if they allowed those same people the opportunity to pick BF3 over MW3 in Shooter of the Year?

They have judges instead, which honestly makes sense since people are idiots and you can't just turn it into a popularity contest.

I believe a worthy parellel is the "workplace of the year" award in my country.

Basically it's a large scale interview endeavour to gauge where the happiest employees are.

Catch is that a company has to pay one of two fees, depending on it's size, to participate and as such, your prestigeous reward merely reflects that you had the happiest employees out of the companies, who felt the PR was worthwhile.

For reference, Mcdonalds took one of the awards this year in Denmark, how do you rate a McDonalds job on your top 10?

Plus you really don't think BF3 wouldn't win? Its not like BF fans got all riled up to completely downvote MW3 on metacritic or anything. Oh no they did, which means an online contest probably would have gone straight for BF3.
