However, nobody cares that their first years were equal...

It's all about comparing total game libraries.

PS3 will always be a year behind.

The ps3's lineup is alot better than most fanboys give it credit for though.

Wii has two AAA exclusives and it's been out for the exact same length of time.

I got my 360 in March of this year...first thing I did was buy Dead Rising / Kameo / PGR3 / Viva Pinata / Gears of War / :)

Yeah cause, everyone expected the X360 to dominate like the Xbox did last generation. PS3 was supposed to dominate from the get go, not marginally keep up with the competition. In that regard, it's a failure. No way to spin it, even though you will try.

you really wanna know the worst launch is the gamecube ,, this gen the wii had best launch i dont give what ppl think ,,, for me red steel and zelda along with wiisports and cod3 that was the best launch

Doesn't make sense. Considering that EVERY console has the ability to play older games says that the PREVIOUS releases are a major plus for a console to have. If what your saying is true, then what drove the ravage behind the PS3 40GB's lack of backwards compatibility if people aren't interested in previous game releases.

Wii fans should never try to debate games. I have had Wii since launch and it's only got a handful of games even worth playing.

PS3 has a lot more games than Wii. And more variety as well.

Metacritic: PS3 has 54 games over 75% and Wii has only 25 games over 75%.

Because CounterStrike 2 hasn't come out yet. And because UT3 has only been out a few weeks. Eventually UT3 will eclipse UT2004.

Enough is Enough. People have to stop attacking the PS3 game library as if theres something even wrong with it. Compare the 360s first 12 months to the ps3's first12 months and they are actually pretty similar, alot of great games and one or two spectacular games but the huge system sellers are still missing. 360 fans easily forget that although Mass Effect, Halo 3 and Bioshock are now here, it took almost 2 years from launch for them to come out. I think the gamers and the media really have to give the ps3 the same time span to perfect its programmingand release its killer exclusives for this to be a fair arguement. Exclusives like Gran Turismo, Final Fantasy,and Metal Gear Solidarefranchises that really sold the PS2 and made it the best selling system of all time, when these games release their sequels exclusively on the ps3, I think the media and gaming world will be singing a very different tune. After 2 years I think you will see the ps3 grow exponentially on all fronts. Its low ownership(ps3) base has forced many innovative ideas like Eye of Judgement to struggle out of the gate simply because there just arent enough users to make it successful. A year from now I believe sony will be very happy with its system that it produced even with the losses it took in its first year. Whos with me?TYLERxDURDEN

Because CounterStrike 2 hasn't come out yet. And because UT3 has only been out a few weeks. Eventually UT3 will eclipse UT2004.

A Counterstrike 2 is pointless. There are so many damn mods and alterations to it that the fans have rendered a creation of a sequal pointless. For UT2k4, there will be more people playing 2k4 for its plethora of enhancements for a long time coming before making the switch to UT3.

There are more than one reason as to why people would play an older game despite it being, in some cases, inferior. I really question your status as a gamer if you don't find the nostalgia in playing older titles.

Ask most people here and they will tell you that COD2 is miles better than COD3; Or ask a hermit and they say to you that Call of Duty > COD2-4.

I consider gamespot to be one of the most accurate review sites out there. Who gave the games way better scores? Spike tv?

Scores mean nothing. It tells you how much someone you never met liked a game. I dont like Halo, I love Mass Effect. Halo 3 will outsell Mass Effect 5:1. With that said it seems like alot of people see where I am coming from. And I would just like to say that I did say that both systems came out with great games their first year but lacked the killer exclusives.
