Okay, you point out the blurry textures on the damaged parts of the inner wall, which I will admit don't look good, as well as the ground, but 1. No one stares at either of those things while playing and 2. You totally ignore the incredible textures on the walls themselves.

I'm just going to make a wild guess and say it has to do with a greater emphasis on technical prowess rather than art styl-e, which is somewhat reflected in the games they release. Western games tend to have a more realistic art styl-e over others.

Translation: I only have an Xbox 360. I am jelous and worried that the PS3 has outsold the 360 the last few months. MGS4 isnt on the 360, so I hate it. I hope it flops.

The MGS series has always put in washed out textures in random spots. There was a lot in MGS3 to run the bigger areas. The character models look good, but the environs look very flat.
