The PlayStation 3 Is the Best Console This Generation

Sure, they are great games, but the PS3's exclusive library clearly has the most memorable and outstanding titles, like Uncharted 2, Metal Gear Solid 4, God of War III and much more.

2. Most Powerful System: Forget all the contested claims- it's very clear that the PS3 is more powerful than the XBox 360, period. The 360 isn't even capable of true 1080p, and it has to upscale. Whereas the Xbox 360 is a powerful console too, nothing can match the might afforded to the PS3 by the Cell.

3. Blu-Ray: While the storage medium may not help in games looking any better than they really are, the PS3 having Blu-ray means that infinitely more complex games with real physics and stuff can be made for the system. The XBox 360 having DVD 9 as its storage format is significantly crippled.

4. Free Online Service: Xbox LIVE might be slightly better, but I'd rather have the ability to play my games online without worrying about paying. I mean, if we've already paid for the game when we were buying it, why pay to play it online? That's just plain dumb.

1. Disagree. Best lineup of exclusives, yes. The 360 gets both PC/360 multiplats & 360/PS3 multiplats; Mass Effect 2 for example. Clearly has the most memorable? No.
2. Wouldn't know, but I'm not too sure what this offers when both consoles look the same graphically. I can't count the pixels. A game either looks good or it doesn't, & both the 360 & PS3 look great. Very clearly more powerful? No.
3. Blu-Ray stops the PS3 from using multiple disks. Infinitely more complex? No.
4. I suppose. I work though, so I have the money, therefor I don't mind paying what ends up being $1.50 AUS a week.

I'm a big nintendo fan, and didn't really enjoy either PS1 or PS2, but I can agree with that. PS3 has been my favorite so far.

Although I agree with your claim, saying it has the best library is purely subjective. On paper, the PC appears to have the best overall library, but since I'm not into RTS/Strategy/MMO's, a lot of those games don't matter much to me

I have nothing against the PS3 but I wouldn't call MGS4 and GoW 3 outstanding titles. (In my opinion of course). Now back on topic the PS3 is awesome but so is the 360. I really do not favor one system over the other.

True the 360 has done wonders to me as well.

I think this generation is probably closer then any other. Every other generation I had consoles that I just plain liked better. I like the PS3 better, but not by a lot. PS3 has better exclusives, 360 has better online play and multiplats.

i think the 360 is the best. it got rated alot higher then both wii and ps3 on the all time greatest console list on ign a few months ago....

since 95% of the games are multiplats and since they look and perform better on the 360 most of the time, I'd say game-wise the 360 wins, with the Ps3 outdoing the 360 only in the exclusives department.

Yeah lets blame the PS3 for the 3rd party short comings,lets forget that nothing on 360 still touch Killzone 2 to this day,and all there is wishful thinking that Rage or Crysis 2 will look better on 360 than Killzone 3 will look on PS3.

Some people need to drop this the PS3 came a year latter,it has a weaker GPU but a much stronger CPU one capable of GPU task,the xbox 360 CPU just can't compare to cell,man the xbox lokked better than the PS2 in the exclusive deperaments,but even that it was much more powerful,many were the multi console games that looked almost identical in both units,hell GTA SA has more jagies on the xbox than on PS2,come on the xbox could do better aliasing.

The PS3 is definitely my favourite console this gen for your first reason. Most of its exclusives are some of the best games I've played. That said, saying it's the best console as a fact with the reasons you gave is pretty biased.

wrong. very wrong. i would much rather play gear of war than crapzone or metal gear 4. metal gear was terrible. but thats the point. its called personal taste. saying the ps3 has a greater library than another system is a dumb statement because its all about personal taste. you might like MGS4, but i personally, think its a steaming pile of ****. mentioning game lineups as an argument for your system of choice is just dumb, because not everyone is like you. second, blu-ray is great but not necessary. third, xbox live is not slightly better, its head and shoulders better. i agree that you shouldnt have to pay to play online, but i renew my xbox live for 35 bucks. i mean really, 35 bucks. if you cant afford 35 bucks to play with your friends, then maybe this shouldnt be your hobby

LOL! no its not MUCH better, its only slightly better because of Cross Game Chat, but I'm sure that's coming to PSN at some point, so while we wait we'll just keep playing online for free until we get that 1 feature.

Besides if we do get PSN + we get 4 free games Every Month, You get that for paying for Live?
