Kakarot put into words for me... the playstation era is indeed over, the public has moved onto to something else, the Wii.
Lets take the time to acknowledge this reality no matter how hard it is for the fanboy in you to truly accept.

..........not!!!!!!prodiqy32You'd think after getting outsold 3:1 by the Wii for over a year, it would begin to sink in.
wii is a secondary console, many of the wii owners will be buying a ps3.
Wii is the last thing I want, but when the next zelda comes out I'll probably buy the wii
lol the anger, both have been out over a year, get your facts straightWhatever you fool it is not over.. it´s only being in the market for like 11 months not even 1 year!

It's not over till Sony says it's over!
But fanboyism is eternal. My PS3 gets way more action than my wii. Just yesterday, I was thinking I probably wouldnt be gaming very much if I still only had a wii. Thats just me, I'm sure others have been enjoying soul caliber legends and stuff like that.DarthmattNMH, and Galaxy have been seeing a lot of play time from me recently
I halfway agree with you on this one. Playstations reign at the top is sadly over after 10 years. I think this gen will surely see the Wii vicorious and the PS3 possibly fall into 3rd place.
Regardless of this I think over the next 3-4 years you can expect further price cuts on PS3 as well as some great well-known titles as well as some suprisesl. But in order to beat out MS this gen will have to do nothing short of pulling a rabbit out of a hat.
The Playstation era is fading, but it isn't quite over.

SMG was great, but I find it hard to go back and spend more time on it now.

***** 5 STARS
if you mean the era of complete dominance by sony, then yea, i guess you're right
but there will always be cows, and even more xbox users
owning a wii buy itself isnt going to give you the best gaming experience this gen. they way i see it, you need a 360/pc/ps3 as well
its hard isen't it cows...now you know how we felt when the gamecube fell to PS2darkspineslayer
Problem is the PS3 has already sold about half of what the gamecube did in its entire life. The PS3 is far from dead, I dont get how fanboys can claim this. The system in all reality isnt selling that bad compared to the first year of the 360 and compared to what software is available for it.
ps2 will compete with ps4I play my PS3 more than my Wii...why? Better games, all my Wii games are better with friends or for parties.
I still think the PS2 is going strong though.

I see plenty of cows enjoying plenty awesome games and as far as I'm concerned the generation isn't at a close yet.
PlayStation era is indeed over.
I remember I use to frequent the Sony boards often, but that was 2 years ago, I haven't been back since.
Half PlayStation's fanbase deserted them.
Nintendo's innovation brought them a great part of the mass public that don't necessary play videogames.
Xbox 360 has used its American strategy at taking the US gaming market away from the Japanese stranglehold that's held it since NES.

really half of the fanbase deserted sony? where did go? wii? lol do relize wii consumers is mainly made up of brand new consumers and xbox is mostly made up of previous lemmings.
Explain to use were those 60+ million cows have gone?
I think their still playing their ps2 and have a decent pc. As a matter of fact thats what I'm doing.

Some to Wii, some to Xbox 360, and some just grew out of video gaming all together.

So 30+ million poeple went to 360 and wii. So what happened to xbox and gamecube fans they bought a ps3?

Everyone I talk to always says how they owned PS2. I went from PS2 to 360, eventually got a PS3 but the PSN is a huge turnoff, so I really dont play it that much.
It also seems you forgot the PC exist. Maybe a lot of them decided it was time to upgrade the PC. Just because 100 million people bought PS2's last gen does not mean each one is going to buy a PS3.
Super Mario Bros 3 sold 40 million copies. By your logic, every Mario after that should have sold 40 million.
Meh,
Wii is destroying all comers in daily hardware sales,
Ps3 is second,
360 is third,
going entirely based on DAILY HARDWARE SALE AVERAGE...
So, does that mean the 360 is this gen's sega saturn?
Or a 360wii is a secondary console, many of the wii owners will be buying a ps3.

I only lurk here for giggles. But personaly, i'm glad we have 3 great choices for a console. I hope they all succeed. primitive013Im with you on that fact.
i accept it and i enjoy every minute of it because being the winner mean playing with the wii since this console have horrible graphics and same for online gaming and 3rd party dev game and dont forget not having gta4 and resident evil 5 this mean this gen losing RULES :D

so because every1 you speak to has a ps2 and then went to 360? thats 15 million ps2 owners. Think before you type.
