Sony and Microsoft sell there games based on pure Hype. They've also released info on games that won't be out till 09... well before any game has any right to be talked about. (Why talk about a game that you won't be able to play for a year and a half. )

Personally Nintendo is not for a person who enjoy games as a major pasttime. They are for parties and people who game occasonally. Wasdie

Well Sony and Microsoft not only have games right now that are great, they have many more games to look forward to. The Wii has a handful of great games now, but not in the future. For gamers you don't want to always be going back to your 5 AAA games made last year and expect to be happy. You need new titles that have great gameplay and keep you playing your console.

The Wii will be collecting dust a few months after SSBB unless they announce a few games worth playing.

The PS3 has had a rocky start but unlike the Wii it has a ton of multiplats that are extremely fun. The 360 had an amazing 06 and 07 but is slowing down but once agian picks up all of the great multiplats so people with only a 360 will have a good time with those.

The Wii relies on exclusives because ports don't make it on the Wii. Instead they need strong 1st party titles or new 3rd party games. Unforutnetly they don't get many 1st party games and the 3rd party games are crap. Nintendo is more focused on Wii Fit and Wii Music than creating new IPs or expanding on the very few they have that haven't been rehashed to death (Pikmin comes to mind).

Personally Nintendo is not for a person who enjoy games as a major pasttime. They are for parties and people who game occasonally.

The Wii is extremely healthy in the world market. Great. It's still my least played console until it gets a much bigger library. And It definately is, it's just my XBOX 360 and it's library of games in combination with my taste makes it hard for my Wii to steal much of my playtime. I barely play PS3 but once MGS4 and Killzone 2 come out that baby isn't gonna be turned off.

On a side note I'd like to say virtual console pwns though.

It dominates in hardware sales, but not in the games I enjoy playing. Dominating means you have no choice but to go to Nintendo. Which is not the case, since I will be playing games on the 360/PS3 that would NEVER make it to the Wii.

And, back when Nintendo DID dominate, it was a bad thing. So bad, they lost their grip to the PS1.

Learn your history, it has a habit of repeating itself.

Who knew about Zack and Wiki (or cared about it) at the beginning of '07?

Honestly, the best games of the year are most often surprises, imo. I couldn't care less about the hype or promise of titles, I just want a good final product, and you never know that for sure until release day.

The Wii is a good console, and the fact that it had NO third party support just a year and a half ago is more of a testament to how far it has come since then. Things are looking up for the Wii on all fronts.

Um the fact is the Wii has by far the most pathetic lineup of 2008. It also has less AA and AAA titles then either the PS3 or 360. And it has some of the worst games ever to launch for a system in all honesty it would be hard to name more then 10 games for the system that are worth playing.

Twilight Princess, Madden ('08 is just as good as '07, but no better, and that's why it didn't get the reviews that '07 got), Zack and Wiki, RE4: Wii Edition, RE: UC, Mario Strikers, BWii, Fire Emblem, Super Paper Mario, SMG, Harvey Birdman (funny, funny game), Trauma Center (both, really), No More Heroes.... and that's not even counting "shovelware."

hopefully within the next few months we'll start to see how the wii's 2008 software lineup will REALLY look like

i'm hoping history will repeat itself and the wii will end up performing like the DS did in 2005.

we knew of NOTHING before E3 2005 coming out for the DS, and it looked like the PSP was going to dominate. then when E3 hit, a load of games were presented, and the DS went on to dominate the PSP (in terms of both quality software and sales) from then on. it really was beautiful, and i hope the same can happen for the wii.
