Poll The poll of the century. DO YOU PLAY INVERTED?! (46 votes)
Lets talk business. Do you play with an inverted Y axis or are you a normie?
I play with an inverted Y axis 100% of the time, and i am disgusted by those who aren't.

Depends on the game.
What? How is this even possible? You get used to one, and stick with it. This is not a graphical setting.
Top Gun NES screwed me up for years lol. Invert Y default, no options. Operating certain machinery irl only reinforced it.
Eventually got to where I can go either way and usually opt for standard Y.

Even with mkb? Truly disgusting if so.
Nope, I use the regular controls. The last time I played with inverted aiming was in the N64 days (in 007 Goldeneye)
@hardwenzen: Flight sims, or anything with flight, I switch to inverted. All else, normal.
That is some weird ass shit.

No, of course not on pc with kb/mouse. That's why i didn't include pc in the poll.
I think people who prefer to play with inverted controls tend to look at games differently than people who don't. I hate inverted and probably wouldn't game as much if there was no option to play with normal controls.
I remember Frank O'Connor from 343 industries being very pro-inverted controls and thinking that should be the "normal" way to play. I disagree strongly, but many would probably agree with him.
@hardwenzen: Dunno if it's weird, but I can easily adjust from normal to inverted. Never had a problem with that

ok nvm i am switching to normal controls.

lol. Yes, another soldier in the fight for normalcy!
My answer is yes I do.. problem is I play inverted on all 3. I have been playing inverted since Goldeneye 007 on the N64 where you didn't have a choice. I also turn my sensitivity all the way up (CoD 20/20 with a 2.00-2.5x multiplier) and either play with no aim assist or with something minimal like Precision aim.
I used to hate invert at first (back in the day), but after a couple thousand hours of Goldeneye it stuck and I wouldn't have it any other way. I literally play every game inverted and it's actually hard for me to adjust to games that either don't offer it or playing after someone. I think it's easier for me to play non inverted than someone trying to play inverted but I will never go back.
That's one thing that is going to be awesome after I get my PS5 Scuf controller so that I can just switch my profile if I'm passing off the controller which I already do with my Elite 2.
I've been called everything from a masochist to a madman playing the way I do, but I truly believe the best way to play is to slowly but surely keep adjusting your sensitivity up when you are comfortable and can control it because it helps with reaction time. I mostly prefer tactical one life shooting games and play a lot of battle royale as well.. uggh on that last one.. lol. It's what my kids like though, so it's fun at times. My youngest son plays with the same sensitivity as I do but neither of them play inverted. As a matter of fact I don't know a single other person on any of my friends lists that play inverted.
I'm probably pretty rare in the gaming world these days.. a lefty who plays inverted.. lol. Oh well, it's what I know and prefer and I wouldn't have it any other way.
LOL how it is making a rather useless poll just to say "FU** YOU PC-MASTERRACE!". Kid probably just needs a hug.
Duh!
No, I do not. But when games force me to, I don't have much problem with it. Pretty good at adapting.
People are so sensitive when it comes to controls. My friends included. They get really, really confused when something is inverted, and I'm like... "just think up is down, how hard can it be you idiot". They also get confused when switching between Nintendo and Xbox controllers, since they have different button layouts. I have no problems adapting to that either.
Makes me think of when I tell people how I play FPSs, they all get shocked as well. Most people use WASD for FPSs. I have no problem whatsoever to play FPSs with WASD controls. I don't however, since it's not what I prefer. I actually walk forward with right mouse button instead of W (and jump with W). Just because I've played FPSs like that since the first DOOM for some reason. But I mean, that's one button that's different. One button. And people are shocked. I guess adapting to controls is one of my greatest abilities, or something.
Playing on PC and flight simulators growing up really drilled it into my head that Up is down and Down is up. Especially as the FPS genre grew from DOOM back in the day so playing stuff like Quake, Unreal Tournament, Half-Life, and so forth further drilled it into my head that mousing up/forward is how you look down and moushing down/back is how you look up.
If I can't invert the controls the game is unplayable. Looking at you Luigi's Mansion 3 and your horseshit controls.
Jesus. What a dumb list of options to choose from there in that list. Looks like something that only a 🤡 would come up with. 😅
Anyway I play with normal controls on everything on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo.
inverted is for dumb people lol
No wonder you're this bad at games. Inverted is for experts. Normal is for people that need to look at controller buttons before pressing them.
I can't play any games involving flight either third or first person without the controls being inverted. If they aren't inverted I'll crash straight into the floor.
For anything else it has to be normal controls. Otherwise I can't play them either, for the exact opposite reason!! 🤣
this is like asking if you play with clothes on or not.
who cares, and no one really ever wanted to know either.
It’s not that important to me, but inverted controls never appealed to me as I’ve tried to play inverted, but I’m too used to the normal button configuration.

You give me an excellent idea, actually. Next thread will be about people playing naked or not.
I use to but haven't for years, but only for inverting the vertical aiming on consoles, but never done that for last couple decades.
My friend though said when we first started hanging out that I used to do it and he started doing it and now he can't stop doing it even though I gave up on it years back.
I used to play a lot of PC games with flight sticks and wonder if initially I played like that on consoles because of that kind of familiarity but I dunno it has been so long. I also spent so little time gaming my last couple years in college maybe I forgot the habit then I went back to console gaming the issue corrected itself.
@hardwenzen: yea cause you are just so busy being swamped in all those sony games.
Sony games can wait. Daddy Ragnarok is coming. For now, i am still with waifu Elden Ring, and she is all i need.
All i am saying is that i am playing naked and with inverted controls. That's all.
Depends on the game.

Flight sims and the like inverted.
Everything else regular.
Don't know if I could handle it any other way.
This is with M+KB, though (and flight sticks). Been a while since I've used a controller, probably inverted on a controller, though.
