I know its old but if the gba had the power to make RE2 why was it not made WHYYYYY.
RE2 video for the GBA

Wow, that's not bad for the GBA... those very low rest for the backgrounds and stuff a bit, not too bad. However, with that said, I wanna see devs really try pushing the DS now...
yoshi_64
low rez for the backgrounds!? i didn't even know the GBA could do 3-d!
The second video is the only one that worked and it was ok. My guess is that the sales would be low so they skipped RE2 for the GBA.roulettethedogDude, it's the GBA...sales wouldn't have been the problem.
My guess is that a GBA cartridge couldn't hold all of the pre-rendered backgrounds for the game. The N64 cartridge could barely do it.
It doesn't matter since the GBA had this:
Best GBA game by far.

Noooo! Me no like naked children!
Me like Zelda.

Yeah, THPS2 was a launch game for GBA and it was 3D. It's really more like "Starfox" style 3D but it still looks good. Metroid looks good on the DS but I doubt it's the limit.
it makes me wonder wat the SNES was capable of.goblaa
I think GBA could do RE2. Look at Golden Sun's visuals...awesome game. Not just because of the graphics btw. majadamus
Yeah, it was a nice combination of technical wizardry and a beautiful art style.

IMO Golden Sun is overrated. It's was more like Beyond the Beyond Gaiden.I'm sure that if Camelot had still been with SEGA, the game would've been a Shining "add title in here". Probably it even started as such.
Uh, looks crappy?
And that's just a one map render of MGS. MGS is more than visuals, it's AI, fluidity, and music that makes it work so well. GBA especially can't do the music.
That's why the world went optical disc. Nintendo was ten years behind.

You expect the GBA.... an 8 year old handheld to have optical discs.....wow

Geeez. Fanboy's really aren't trying hard anymore.
GBA Japan Realse Date: March 21, 2001.
PSP Japan Release Date: December 12, 2004
Nintendo DS Release Date: November 21, 2004
My point? The fact that a handheld that came out in 2001 could handle graphics of those caliber is very impressive. And as for your "optical discs complaint". What the hell does the Wii use? Disc shaped cartridges?
If the GBA is capable of those visuals - it makes me wonder what the DS is capable of.HeedleGlavinWell on the GBA it says that it is a 32 Bit Handheld, and the DS is a 64 Bit Handheld so the GBA can handle what the PS1 and Saturn was capable of but other people say that the GBA was only 16 Bit.
It says on the Box of the GBAsp The First 32 Bit Handheld so it can handle the same graphics that PS1, and Saturn can but the reason RE2 didn't come out on the GBA was the Cartridge couldn't hold that much information, I think GBA could easily do it, it was just a Limit on the Storage since the GBA uses Cartridges.G

[QUOTE="glitchgeeman"]Damn, if the GBA could do that, I'm wondering what are the DS's graphical limits?tape990
Like the GBA i dont think we will see any Ds game use the Ds to its graphical limits and thats sad.
Metroid Prime:hunters pushes the DS to its limits. Looks better then anything on the N64.[QUOTE="tape990"][QUOTE="glitchgeeman"]Damn, if the GBA could do that, I'm wondering what are the DS's graphical limits?Rougehunter

Because Metroid Prime:hunters looks better then any thing on the n64 does not meen it is pushing the Ds to its limits.
I bet there will be games for the Ds that will look better then Metroid Prime.

I understand that but the point was that hunters pushes the DS almost too far. At the moment Brothers in arms DS might look like the game to surpass Hunters graphics[QUOTE="General909"][QUOTE="Rougehunter"][QUOTE="tape990"][QUOTE="glitchgeeman"]Damn, if the GBA could do that, I'm wondering what are the DS's graphical limits?Rougehunter

Oh sorry.
I thought you were one of those people that say the system it at its limits and new games are not going to look any better.
