In 2005 I thought Sony would lead the market with the PS3, but now here is what my crystal reads:

It's easy to say the Wii is going to lead just off sales right now but now =/= the future. It all really depends who can get the best games out the fastest and the most consistantly. SONY has had a very good history of delivering a great amount of AA-AAA games to it's consoles in consistancy and the fact that blu ray is expected to take off makes it hard for a lot of analists to not say the PS3 will "win" the console war.
I don't think Wii will sell that much, maybe in 2007 it will explode as you've got Metroid, Mario and Smash but after that in 2008 when 360 and PS3's games really start to shine the graphics on Wii will start to hurt it, not only that but novelty games won't be a success on wii as it has on the DS. DS will still continue to dominate the handheld market and increase it's lead by over 25 million. In terms of consoles, i think 360 will sell around 30 million at the end of 2008 and PS3 at 25 million, wii at 30 million also. The way things are going i SERIOUSLY doubt there will be any console that sells over 50 million this gen. I think the sales will be pretty even between them, maybe one of them will break 50 but that's it.
The wii might come in second if it doesn't get as many good games. Hopefully, SSBB, SMG, and others will help the wii. The ps3, in its current condition, is no doubt going to be 3rd. Even if the ps3 is second, its already had a huge blow in sale comparisons.
I feel the Wii is gonna crush the competition. Most of the non-gamers I know heard of it and think it's neat. I should bookmark this thread and bump it every month or so to see everyone's prediction and how the 3 consoles are doing over time.

I say the ps3 by end of 08, cause by then MGS4, FF13, GT5(maybe winter 08), DMC4, Ratchet and Clank etc etc will all be out, plus it will price drop and everyone waiting for that will get one...dont get me wrong 360 will be selling too and have a price drop, but i think ps3 can catch up by winter 08 especially if GT 5 comes out at that time.
Wii in first by 10 mill+ Why? Simple. Cheap price (which can get cheaper), crazy amount of appeal, etc. By 2009, Nintendo will have announced a new system though.
