The PS3 deserves a better web browser.

One good thing about the PS3 is that it allows me to surf the web from my couch.

Unfortunately, it renders almost nearly every single website out there incorrectly. I suggest that Sony either update this browser, or simply replace it with an alternative browser (i.e., Opera) so that we may have better experiences when surfing the web.

But yea, it is a great feature to have on a console and it definitely needs some improvement.

PS3 browser you can download/upload stuff and watch streaming videos, take snapshot of whats on screen,what more do you need really?

Ironically, I use my PS3 more for its auxiliary functions than for playing games. Youtube XL isn't so bad, but the search features on Youtube XL are awful.

I read that if you used the OS feature you could have made it better, ah well.

Yeah it really does. There were rumors of firefox coming but I don't know if they held any truth. To all those saying "hurrrr use a pc", browsing the web from your couch is awesome. Besides what if some one is using the computer? My ps3 serves as a ready alternative.

psu are pretty cheap dude why not just buy a new one? i agree ps3 web bowser is pretty sub par .

Yea i remember reading somewhere couple of weeks that a new trademark showed up with sony working with google, could be that who knows. they should really focus on Xgame chat because seeing people mentioning it every single week on the PsBlog is getting too annoying now

The PS3's current browser is hard to put stuff into the best way to get a better browser would be to partner up with Google or Mozilla. I remember in an interview when the PS3 finally got Flash they said it was very, very hard to get Flash into the PS3 browser

ps3 was not really made for web browsing i believe it was made for games and bluray...

Well, i dun use my PS3 browser that much, but it works for me when i need it. I dun see any frequent internet user using the PS3 tho in browing.

My pc is right next to my consoles, so I never use the PS3 browser. Sony should just do away with it though, as it's terrible in its current state. Like you said, almost everything won't load properly. And (at least for me), browsing is MUCH slower than on my pc. Glad I can just use that all the time now instead.Doolz2024

Obviously it is a bigger inconvenience and less of a necessity for the company that created it in the first place than it is for you.

The gaming console isn't a cheap media pc.

Say what you want, but its better than nothing. Hell, even the wii has one, though rather basic. I find it convenient, when Im on the ps3, find myself needing to do just one quick search of something, then resume play. I guess Im just grateful for it, though I suppose an update couldnt hurt.
