The controller, the controller feels so weird. Playing a 360 for 3 years strait, it just feels odd holding a Ps3 controller. When the 2 analog sticks are at the bottom, it feels like i have to stretch my hands out a lot more. Man, i wish i can just trade over the Halo series for Killzone or something. Has anybody else ever felt the same way? Have you been really intrested in buying a game only to find out its on a rival console?

The 360 is nigh on the best controller ever (IMO), except for the awful D-Pad. PS3's is fine, but in terms of ergonomical design, lacks compared to the 360's.

To each his own. I feel as if I have to stretch my thumb to reach the Analog stick on the Xbox 360s controller. It just doesn't feel as natural as the PS3s controller.

You can buy PS3 controllers with uneven analogs, but they're 3rd party.

The 360's is comfy and I like the analog sticks, but I hate the uneven placement. It seems rather pointless and only existing to seperate its design from the PS3's design. The d-pad is also pretty terrible.

The only issue I have with the PS3 controller (having grown up with a PS2) is the way too easy to push back triggers.

I kind of felt the same way. Then I bought a PS3 and was used to the controller about 20 minutes into MGS4.

If I had to pick current generation controllers, the 360 would be my first choice. But really, it isn't that big of a deal and doesn't really effect my gaming experiences one way or the other.

What's that thing do and how does it work?

It takes a wired 360 controller and then converts the signal fool the PS3 into thinking that its a PS3 controller. It works with rumble, but no sixaxxis so some games still need the regular old PS3 controller.

The Xbox 360 controller is really comfy but awkward for me to play. I prefer the symmetry of the PS3 controller, but the new hanging R2 and L2 buttons are an abomination. I guess its better than the boomarang shape they were going to give us before we complained. To each his own, I guess.

I find both controllers to be great, but i hear the Power A Pro PS3 controllers are great for people used to the 360 controller design, and it's not one of those crappy third party controllers either, feedback has been very positive.

There are 3rd party controllers that you might like more and for your question about the rival system, I have had that issue as long as I can remember and I came up with a solution= buy everything.

Could be worse, Xbox controllers could still be clunky and oversized like the ORIGINAL controller for the first Xbox. My favorite controller of all time though has to be the MadCatz MicroCON for the original Xbox. Small controller that fit in your hands perfectly and made gaming comfortable

I guess I'm just a weirdo because I go back and forth between the controllers seamlessly.

The PS3 dualshock controller for me is near perfect if the damn R2 and L2 were less sensitive.

Same here. Personally I don't get why people prefer those sticks placements. (Maybe if they have huge hands.) Symmetric hands = symmetric controller, makes sense no? After talking about it with friends, I did notice a little difference in the way 360 players hold the controllers. They tend to grap the controller more, almost *crush* it with their palms and surround it with their fingers. Doing that with the Dualshock is very unconfortable, the curves are worse and the grip point toward the face buttons and not enough to the sticks. I suggest to those people who have trouble with the DS3 to soften their grip. Reach out with your fingers to the bottom, and just let the controller *drop* into your bottom fingers while using 1 or 2 on the shoulder buttons. This allow the thumbs to be shooting straight at the sticks(in symmetry! :P). Your palms are NOT touching the grips, only a certain part of your bottom fingers. That's how I do it. I have pretty small hands though, maybe it is not possible with some people. Hope that helps you try to get used to the Dualshock.

Why don't you spend less time holding the PS3 controller and more time playing with it?

Everybody makes such a big deal about the controllers and how they aren't used to it when it only takes a few gaming sessions to get used to them.

360's feels good for shooters only IMO and PS3 is better fit for everything else. It could be shaped to fit your hands better and have different triggers, but the analog placement, and button layout is better for driving, platforming, action/adventure, and works for shooters.

I can go from playing my PS3 one second, to my 360 in another without noticing a thing.

So I don't have a problem with either, nor do I have a preference.

My PS3 controller feels fine for me. Some of my friends that have 360's don't like it, while others that have 360's never even complain. I think this comes down to personal prefernce.

I never understood why people say the Xbox controller feels more natural. Do you have crooked thumbs? Mine are symmetrical so I find the PS3 much more comfortable.

On topic the first time I ever used an xbox controller was this gen after having used a PS controller for like 6 years, and I was able to pick up the controller right away and use it well, same goes with nes, snes, sega genesis, N64, PS1, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, and any other controller you threw at me. Seriously why is it that people have such a hard time with controllers?

that's a lame reason not to play the PS3, but yeah the DS3 does feel odd though, even though I've been a PS gamer since the PS1 the DS3 feels odd with the triggers, it's even more odd that developers don't wish to map the triggers like they do the Xbox 360 controls just makes me wonder why they even bothered, racing games are the exception but the triggers are not as shooter friendly

The LB and RB on the 360 controller are pathetic to say the least...Too NARROW and unplayable IF MS made a better Dpad and WIDER RB LB it would be the BEST controller EVAH!!!

There was this huge post a while ago that went through the logic of switching the analog stick and the d-pad, but I've got no idea where it is.
