Time and time again I hear people say stuff like "Well the PS3 is selling at a better rate than the PS2 did in the same time frame" or "The PS3 is selling more a month than 360 did in the same time frame" We all know thats ridicolous, im 24 years old and I was around during the start of the PS2 era and PS2 launch, and one HUGE Difference about the PS2 and PS3 is.. Consumer interest, sure the PS2 might not have picked up in sales until 2 years down the road BUT on the other hand everywhere you went all you heard was PS2 talk and how bad people wanted one. Now when you talk to the average joe and mention the PS3 their automatic response is always something like "Its just so expensive though" or "What games are out for it"
Whenever someone Mentions the 360 to the average joe the first thing they say is something like "Man Halo 3 is going to own" or "I played Gears at a friends house and I MUST get a 360 its so awesome" Pretty much the point of this thread is you can compare numbers and historical data all you want but the fact remains is the PS3 is lacking the consumer interest that 360 currently has. I hate to say this speaking as a former hardcore sony fan, but the PS3 wont get better from here.
