Look at the sales figures for the PS3. Considering that there were only 500,000 units available at launch, that is a pretty significant amount of sales. Also take into consideration that the PS3 only launched in Europe in March and has already sold a lot of systems. The PS3 also has a lot of great games coming out this holiday season, and even more next year. Sony surprised everyone at GDC with LittleBigPlanet and Home (arguably the best chat system ever.) Then Sony had a great E3 with the announcement of InFamous and Echochrome. Next up is Liezpeg (or however it is spelled) which the Euorpean Sony president says Sony will start showing off their big announcements.

And MGS4 was shown off to the delight of many gamers. Combine this with the inevitable price drop and we already have are winner this gen!!!

How, does one declare a "winner"? The one who ends up highest in the black? or the company who sells the most systems?Also, none of what you said really makes sense to why Sony would "win".You're declaring a winner after only 9months ofwhatSony is hoping to be a 10 year life span.Andwhen you say that the PS3 had 500k units sold at launch, you're not taking in effect that Nintendo has had the wii sold out for 9 months straight, and the 360 had a huge shortage at its launchas well.

And as you might or might not know, all systems have great (exclusive)games coming (not just the Waitstation 3), and just because you think they're great games makessaid gamesso. This post is highly ignorant of the current gaming community, and in no way can tell us the winner5-9 years down the line. Lastly, the BS3 has moved only 3.9M consoles versus the 9.2M consoles sold by Nintendo, and the 11.7M consoles sold by Microsoft.

Post Script: Sony already dropped the price of the 60GB model to $499, but they have already stopped being made.

Sony has no chance this fall. Halo 3, Mario Galaxy, and Super Smash Brother Brawl are going to sell through the roof. Sony has good games but these are all proven games that will sell like crazy. Games like Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, and Lair will not come close to those above games. Look at Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Its not even on the Charts. Those above games are the biggest exclusives this Fall.

I agree. It doesn't help the 360 is starting to peak and has most it big games coming out now, and the Wii low price isn't going to logically maintain sales at its current rate. leaving the door open for PS3 to dominate :D.

I see your point, and i also am a PS2 user whose chosen a different console in my case its 360. But were both going to eventually upgrade to PS3 in the next 5 years if not sooner.

My logic isn't flawed? It was just a hypothetical statement, its kinda like saying 360 getting better games than gears is possible.
